Great chili

nice taste, not too hot

Kind of expensive but the flavor is much better than what I was able to find locally. Great for asian dishes that call for whole or chopped peppers. Just the right amount of spice. Will definitely continue to buy.

I bought the hot version of these, and it was just way more than I could handle. This version, however, has a little pleasant heat, but a lot more taste and no tears. This is the one I will buy from now on.

These grind nice and red but I don't know what they should taste like or cost so I can't be objective. I like them ok. The seeds are not viable.

I use a lot of dried chilis in my cooking, whether for Mexican, Thai, Szechuan, or Indian, and I almost without fail get all my dried chilis from Natruen. They always come still pliable and fresh. For these, I order the mild. You can always make things spicier, but it’s hard to make them milder once they’re too hot. Be sure to toast them just until fragrant, for more flavor. The best thing about these is being able to use enough to get really good flavor without burning yourself out. I use them to make my own chili oil too, which is delicious. Highly recommend!

I have been learning Chinese cooking and Sichuan recipes often call for dried red peppers. We saw a man chewing out a waitress once because he ate a red pepper at a restaurant. He couldn't stop crying and was really angry the pepper had been left in the food. He didn't know they were for color and are very hot, so we know enough not to eat them. We don't like a lot of spice so I leave them whole and do not break them open like the recipes say to. This bag has large whole dried peppers perfect for Sichuan cooking. It is probably more than I will ever need but I can't find them locally. Thank goodness for Amazon. I have bought lots of Chinese spices and noodles that I can't get at home.

I ordered these because they're listed as mild but they're so hot I had to hold my breath when cutting them. The burn was so powerful that when I put them in my food processor I started to choke and I couldn't breath. My chili sauce was inedible it was so hot, my tongue & lips felt like they were melting off my face. If you're looking for mild, don't order these. There is an SHU scale for chilies, this type has a base of 50,000 and up to 75,000 so mild in this type of chili is still very hot. If you want a real mild chili, choose a type lower on the SHU scale. This was my fault for not knowing that before I ordered. If you like burning hot, these are for you!
