This secoend time I’ve used this , when dog is unwell I give this when they aren’t eatting well they like the flavour of this and I’ve even been able to give dog medication using this to disguise taste and it’s worked

This Buddy & Lola weight gainer has been a life saver for my sons lurcher, she became really skinny when she was pregnant,which happens to some dogs when carrying big litters, after giving birth to 13 puppies,she was so thin, we could see every bone she had. she was a mess. there were 3 pups that didnt make it but still feeding the 10 left with no weight on her to help was awful,she was having extra food but it was not helping.when i saw this product i just had to get some. started her off on the top dose she could have and she has filled out lovely,she still has some but my son is lowering the amount now, but if it helps maintain a good weight for her then i dont mind buying it. so yes guys it does work, like me you will be happy you chose to try it. we can now rest with peace of mind that she is going to be ok. all pups gone now and she has been done so no-more large litters and she is back to her old self and looks gorgeous thanks to buddy & lola.

My GSD has been very fussy and I've been stressing however using this he's already put weight on.

I bought this product for my underweight, elderly greyhound on the recommendation of a vet and purchased it twice. I very rarely write reviews but I wanted to explain my experience to potentially save you some money, as this stuff isn't cheap. + My dog loved the taste of this. He never struggled with eating anyway but he really enjoyed this so it may be tempting for a more reluctant eater. + The powder was easy to use and didn't smell unpleasant. + The powder didn't upset his stomach... and literally everything upsets his stomach. - This alone put no weight on my dog, even after two bags. While it made him want to eat his food maybe more than he would have if he were fussier, it did nothing else. What did I do? I spent my next £30 on a bag of Arden Grange kibble and just fed him more. Yes, it upset his stomach more than this powder did but I got 6kg for half of the price and he actually put weight on from eating more. I was really hoping that this would help but, sadly, it did nothing for my dog. If your dog is fussy or picky and that's why they're underweight, I'd recommend it but I wouldn't otherwise.

I have a very tiny (~1.8kg) 14 year old Yorkie who's gotten skinny in her old age. After seeing all of the rave reviews for this product, I thought I'd found just the thing I needed. I've been giving her about a scoop and half every day (one scoop is recommended for dogs 5 times her size) for the past 6 weeks and while she loves the smell and taste, she hasn't gained any weight. The entire reason for spending so much money on this was the promise of weight gain, but outside of the few grams variance day to day, she's exactly the same weight as when she was started on this. I already couldn't see how this could be anything close to value for money for people with larger dogs, especially when a bag lasts just over a month for me (which is handy as they don't have much longer left on the best before date when they arrive anyway) and my rabbit sized dog. A dog sized dog would get a week at most from a bag! The company recommends doubling up the amount if there's no change in weight but she's already eating more powder than dinner at this point. I don't know where I'd hide any more of it! The one star, which is the lowest anything can be rated on here, is for the palatability. My younger dog is very interested in the smell too, so it must be nice for them. But so are freeze dried meat toppers and grated yak cheese, and they don't cost over £30 a month to give them!

I bought this for my Hungarian vizsla who has a heart murmur and Pica. So despite having food down all day everyday, on occasion she was filling herself with non food items and although she's of normal weight for a typical dog of her breed of her age (which is unusual as dogs with a heart murmur usually don't grow well apparently) I felt she needed to have something on her bones as a reserve should she ever become ill. I was a little dubious about a product that is in the lower price bracket but I took the plunge and bought it. She has been on it 3 days and I haven't seen any weight gain yet but she isn't looking for items to eat that she shouldn't. From the moment she got up to the second before bed, she would be almost desperately looking for things to eat or even lick but now she isn't even walking around the house and garden licking things. That behaviour has just, well, stopped!! That was not why I bought it but she just gets one heaped scoop a day in a bowl without food and she gobbles it. So it must taste great. It's a bit of a sticky powder. A bit clumpy but I am very optimistic that if she's not eating rubbish, she will also bulk out. I will be making this a regular purchase. Definitely glad I took the risk!

My other 2 dogs have made gains in there weight and its noticeable, its helped a very anxious dog to finally gain weight and she looks good. My bully X has made very noticeable gains also, but sadly our new rescue bitch is struggling to put on weight with this and is not taking to it at all. Lots of not nice stuff coming from both ends sadly.

I was super skeptical about buying this, as all too often I find these things simply don't work. However!! This has been a fantastic addition to my dog cupboard! My boy us super super fussy, so much so he won't even eat the powder on top of his dinner. However, he's quite used to taking medications and liquids via syringe, so I've utilised this and been able to give him the supplement as a sort of paste. The difference was almost instant! Within 48hours I could already see the difference in him. Ribs less visible, hip bones with some cover, and even face looking fuller. I wish I'd tried this earlier!! Yes it's pricey, BUT when I add up the amount I've spent on various different foods trying to get him to eat something higher in calories to help with weight gain, this is by far the better option! I've already recommended it to friends who work with rescue dogs, some I'd which come in particularly thin If you're considering this but not yet sold on it, my advice is give it a go. For us, it's made such a huge huge difference, and meal times are no longer stressful for either of us
