Great book. Easy to read. Very interesting details about our beloved Selena. In no way does this book describe our Selena in any other way than the kind, joyful, warm, girl next door and most talented artist we all admired deeply. The author gave a very detailed account of the events that lead to the tragedy of her loss. Her professional investigation is written with the outmost respect for the artist and all people involved in her life. Highly recommend this read!

This book is written very well, it literally takes you back in time to get to know and live with Selena for another moment. Here you get to be there and discover alot of things that are not revealed anywhere else about Selena's life and all the way into her final days. The Secret is told little by little in each Chapter and if you dont read well then it can appear that no secret was told!! Once you start reading the book, its impossible to put down. Great book!!

I purchased this as a gift for my dad. He really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed taking the journey with Maria through this whole saga. I learned a lot. There are YouTube interviews where you can find out the secret. I feel enough was revealed that it can be inferred. I bought this book to improve my Spanish and I was pleased it was at my level. I appreciate the candor and honesty of the author because it made her relatable. I would recommend this book.

Realmente el mentado libro termino como su titulo SECRETO, Osea que Maria Celeste simplemente esta jugando con las personas que por el titulo del libro ella revelaria el mentado secreto que a estas alturas ni creo que exista, con este titulo estan tratando de hacer creer ala gente que ella lo dira en el interior de este libro pero gente no es cierto, no lo compren, ella no revela nada del tal secreto que supuestamente ella sabe, el libro se trata de todo el asunto de la corte en contra fe Yolanda Saldivar, nada mas. y para colmo lo cierra con unas fotos de Selena y de Yolanda. me parece mala onda de parte de una gran periodista que contra eso no hay nada en contra, pero si en el titulo del libro que simplemente lo uso para llamar la atencion y que mu ha gente llegue a comprar dicho libro. en lo personal es muy aburrido.

So I took the time to read the book in Spanish as well as English. I should mention that I first read the book in English and found it direct and informative, if a bit simple in terms of the language and writing style used, which is just as well. As the book was primarily an investigation, it made sense that the author chose to keep the text as simple as possible. However, I was more than fairly disappointed when I finally came around to reading the Spanish translation. Given the book's focus on the Selena murder trial, I expected the book to be translated impeccably both for the benefit of Spanish-language speakers as well as those primary English speakers interested in applying and expanding their Spanish. My bit of advice: DON'T READ IT FOR THIS. The translation, while generally ok, is also VERY lazy and poorly written, using MANY false-cognates over and over and over again during the trial. I'm sorry, but if someone is going to translate a book into Spanish, the translator should take the time to edit and ensure that the terminology being used is correct. EX: an attorney's motion is not a "moción" but a "pedimento". Evidence in trial is not so much "evidencia" as it is a "prueba." A deposition is a "declaración jurada" and not a "deposición." Also, the verdict is the "sentencia" or the "fallo" (sentencia condenatoria = guilty verdict, sentencia absolutoria = not guilty verdict) and the sentence is the "condena" or the "sanción" and so forth. Now an otherwise interesting read by a respected journalist is tainted by blatantly poor Spanish, making one doubt the quality of the entire translation. Y para los que no hayan entendido mis comenterios en inglés referente al libro, aunque me pareció un libro interesante, es importante decir que la traducción al español de la misma es algo pésima, dado que se utilizan muchos cognatos falsos en torno a la terminología jurídica en el libro. Es una gran desilusión que se haya hecho una traducción tan mala para un libro que me parece algo importante cuando hablamos acerca del tema de Selena. If you want to read this book, I would suggest reading the English version, or read the Spanish version with a grain of salt.

Estuvo bueno pero no creo se revelo l secreto de su muerte , algo mas paso que sus familiares no quiere se sepa . Bueno lo importante que ella fue una gran Tristán que vivirá entro de nuestros corazones po siempre y que fu un ser humano como todo nosotro con sus altas y sus bajas , el que esté libre de o dos tire la primera piedra .

Sou brasileira e fã da cultura hispanoamericana e da música latina. Falar destes temas e não citar Selena Quintanilla é um erro grosseiro. Que obra! A autora foi muito feliz nas investigações que fez da vida pessoal de Selena e da ré confessa Yolanda Saldívar. Impossível terminar a leitura e não se emocionar.

Me ha gustado mucho el libro ya que ha sido objetivo y sobre todo, no se ha basado en opiniones ( He says, She says) sino en Documentación... He comprado el libro porque me considero fan de Selena y simpre lo seré... Leer cuáles eran sus planes personales me hacen admirarla aún más, por intrépida y valiente... Sólo es una pena que a sus 23 años no pudo lograrlos...Este libro nos da un "clousure" a quienes nos quedamos con una estrella que le apagaron la luz... RIP!

en lo personal el "secreto" lo dijo entre líneas durante todo el libro, tiene detalles muy interesantes que no conocía, no basta con solo ver la serie, 100% recomendado
