Review: More like they used to make 'em. - Nice, realiable vacuum so far. Lately, we've been through many vacuums, many of them "high end" and several hundred dollars, only to have them become useless because one little plastic tab rendered the parts unconnectable, or undisconnectable, for maintenance. Can we just stop with the programmed obsolescence? Bought this because I've seen them in hotels, and I figure they can't afford to constantly have their vacuums break down. Almost everything on this thing is metal, and what isn't (like the cord hooks) can cheaply be replaced by a metal version. It does a good job of cleaning, and the beater bar is easy to de-hair.

Nice, realiable vacuum so far. Lately, we've been through many vacuums, many of them "high end" and several hundred dollars, only to have them become useless because one little plastic tab rendered the parts unconnectable, or undisconnectable, for maintenance. Can we just stop with the programmed obsolescence? Bought this because I've seen them in hotels, and I figure they can't afford to constantly have their vacuums break down. Almost everything on this thing is metal, and what isn't (like the cord hooks) can cheaply be replaced by a metal version. It does a good job of cleaning, and the beater bar is easy to de-hair.

PROS: This vacuum sucks. Hehe. In reality it seems very well built, metal handle and roller. The cable is thick and very long. It is probably the strongest vacuum I've used; I've used commercial vacuums in my work. Hopefully it doesn't crap out. If you need something to clean carpet, this is it. Seems like it's built to last. CONS It is heavy compared to it's modern counterparts, taking it up and down stairs might be hard for some people. It won't fit under a table or couch, no attachments or hoses for corners, but the suction is great. It's pretty loud, so if you live in an apartment it's probably best to use it during the day.
