Can be used as like a metal yoyo fishing reel where you tie it to a branch spring loaded to set the hook for you, can be a back up if your fishing pole breaks, could be attached to a bow for bow fishing , although you would have to change out the line for something suitable , fashion an emergency reel if you have the know how.
