Are they graphite or charcoal? The ad says graphite but the picture of the pencils shows they are marked charcoal....

Mine say graphite on the box and charcoal on the pencils. They smudge when I use coloured pencils to fill in the drawing. I’m not very impressed by them.

Are these pencils different colors? Or just different thicknesses? What should I use to sharpen them at appropriate thicknesses?
