Reliable. Transfer cable might be low quality.
I've been using this for several years now with regular use. It is a good quality recorder, dependable (never had a recording issue) and easy to use. I have come to rely on it for clear, clean, audio recording that can be easily retrieved and used. The only issue might be the mic you use and the cord used to download recordings. I've been through two different cords that stopped working as transfer connections. I don't know why they stopped working. The one it came with was only ever used to transfer data from the device and was not bend or subjected to weight or play at the connection points. It stopped working after a year with not much use. However, the device is working well and the transfer cable is a common type found everywhere.

BEST EVER Digital Voice Recorder
✅ Pros: • Excellent Audio Quality: The built-in microphones capture clear, crisp audio, even in moderately noisy environments. It handles both quiet voices and louder environments without distortion. • Slim and Lightweight: It’s incredibly portable—small enough to fit in a shirt pocket without noticing it’s there. • Fast Charging and Long Battery Life: USB direct charging is a game-changer. A full charge lasts for multiple sessions, often up to 20+ hours depending on usage. • Built-in Storage + MicroSD Expansion: The internal 4GB is sufficient for most casual users, but the MicroSD slot allows for easy expansion, which is perfect for longer recordings. • Easy File Transfer: Plug it directly into a USB port and drag files like you would from a flash drive. No special software needed. ⚠️ Cons: • Buttons Feel a Bit Small: While the device is compact, the small buttons may be a bit fiddly for users with larger hands. • Basic Display: The screen is functional but minimal. Navigating folders or playing back specific files could be more intuitive. • No Bluetooth or Wi-Fi: It’s all wired, so there’s no way to wirelessly transfer files or pair with a smartphone. 🎯 Best For: • Journalists • Students • Podcasters on a budget • Anyone needing reliable audio notes on the go 📝 Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a dependable, high-quality digital voice recorder without breaking the bank, the Sony ICD-UX570 is a fantastic choice. It strikes a great balance between performance and price, and its ease of use makes it accessible for beginners and pros alike.

Good compact recorder
Very good for recording. My only issue is rewinding. It rewinds back to the very beginning. The recording library is a little confusing to operate. It is compact and the clarity is very good. Works well with either Apple or Android ear buds.

Great Little Recorder
I charged the recorder the day I got it and have not charged it since. I use it to record a meeting that usually lasts an hour and a half. I have recorded three meetings and it still shows full battery. The meeting is in a large room the size of half a gymnasium (the folding door is closed) with terrible acoustics. We use a PA system but not everyone uses a microphone. The recorder still picks up all the people speaking. I am the group Secretary and I can listen to the recording and produce accurate meeting minutes. The recorder is easy to use and I can reverse the playback in case I miss something and hear it again. I use a headset to listed to the recording. I’m very happy with the recorder and would recommend it to a friend. I used cassette recorders in college 30 years ago and this is much better. I have not recorded any music on it so I don’t know how it would sound. I record the meetings using the WAV format.

Great for quick note taking
This digital voice recorder has been an absolute game-changer for my outdoor projects. When I'm in the field, on a job site, or just working in the yard, a notebook is simply not practical. This device allows me to dictate notes, measurements, and reminders hands-free and on the go. The sound quality is remarkably clear, picking up my voice perfectly even with background noise like wind or equipment. The battery life is fantastic, easily lasting through an entire day's work. It's a durable, portable, and reliable tool that has made keeping track of details on any outdoor task incredibly efficient. I highly recommend it for anyone whose work keeps them away from a desk.

I'm happy with my purchase
The item is nice and robust. It has a good weight to it and feels like it is quality made. I have not found anything yet of any sort that would make me think that it is dysfunctional at all. It appears to work well, It is a good size, not too big nor small. I used to have a Olympus brand of recorder before, many years ago. I never owned another one. That one I let the replaceable batteries run down and for some reason it took a crap because of that apparently. It was not cheap either. I paid well over $50 for it. But that is all that I can compare this to and I have to say that I like how this looks and feels. All I can do is list the things I like about it and then some things I wasn't all that crazy about. First my positive observations. Pros: 1. Nice weight. Doesn't feel cheap. Most is probably the battery weight I'm guessing. 2. Quality feeling metal enclosure. 3. Positive feeling clicks from the buttons and switches. 4. Decent clarity of the recordings. (Understand, this is for recording voice notes, not concerts) 5. Color and professional look. 6. Lanyard hole in the case body. 7. Multiple recording format options. 8. Readable display although some fonts are pretty compacted. Now here are some things I did not really get all excited about. But not deal-breakers for me anyway, not at this price point. 1. The backlight. You can't turn it off. Here's the problem with that. You will be recording all button presses and switch clicks. When it times out and the display is off you have to press a button "click" to light up the display and then press a button "click" to pause it. These click sounds can be rather loud on playback when listening closely to a voice recorded at a distance. 2. The length of time before recording starts. Unless you are anticipating the recording of something it will probably take you a good 10 seconds before recording starts. Reaction time, then a 3 second boot time, then a somewhat 5 second wait for it to initialize the record function and start recording. 3. Does not automatically save the recording. A majority of recordings are not accidental but if you don't slide the record switch down before shutting down it will not save it. The manual is not all that intuitive and some terminology is assumed unless you test it. The sleeper function is one example. I thought it was to record for a certain length of time and stop. All it is for is an auto-off function if not used for any length of time. I also couldn't figure also why there would be a lanyard connection point in the casing but no lanyard was included. Bottom line is that I am fine with this unit and without comparing it to others it is okay in my opinion. All in all it is a usable recorder for $40 and completely functional for the purpose it is intended for.

Do NOT buy this
I don't know what to make of these thousands of glowing reviews. ("Best recorder ever" says one breathless headline.) Even brand new, this "EVIDA" recorder never really worked great. The settings and menu were very unintuitive and confusing. And the audio quality of the recordings (even on the best settings) was always mediocre. In order to start recording, one has to move a switch on the side. That seems simple and straightforward. The problem is that this thing is so finicky, it's so easy to gently bump it, and have the switch flip back off. (And the "lock" switch that theoretically should prevent a recording from accidentally stopping doesn't seem to actually do anything here.) --But worse, after less than a year of using this, it's now malfunctioning in a way that I would not have believed was technologically possible. These days when I try to record something, I not only get that recording, but I get multiple other files that are fragments of that recording. And I get recordings with the metadata (the record date) from PREVIOUS recordings that were already deleted off the device. Not only is this confusing, but there is a worry that it's recording OVER the "slots" of past recordings. In short, this is outright junk. Be wary of all the 5-star reviews. This whole system is clearly fishy.

Unfortunately does not work - faulty.
I purchased 32GB option in May 2022, and but did not try to use it until January 2023. Came up with a disc error, which, after a reset, resolved itself. Made 2 20 minute recordings and that was that until today. Tried to use today, but will not function properly. Will not record, and if I delete 2 recordings from January, it says they are deleted, but reappear each time I switch on. Have tried formatting, resetting etc but now shows "Please wait......" and has done so for the last hour. Very disappointed! Update: would just like to add that Amazon has been very helpful in obtaining a refund.
