(10830) Fast Grow Grass Seed - Cool Season Lawn Seed (15 lb)

I wasn't expecting much but this worked great. I had a pool put in last summer turning my yard into a big mud slide. I temporarily put fake grass down on most of it. But this summer I wanted to see if I could get some grass to grow. I have a lawn guy, but I still have a deck to do so I decided to give this a try and he could do his magic if it didn't work when he starts his service later this month after the deck is up. I must admit I didn't follow many of the directions. I just sprinkled some seed a couple of weeks ago when I knew there would be a rainy week. Other than the rain the weather wasn't great, we were going from 80 degrees all the way down to 30 some nights. I figured if it didn't work I can try again. I only did about half my yard to see how it does. Two weeks later and it's growing nicely almost everywhere except for a couple of areas with really compacted clay soil. Did I mention we have horrible soil? I had another bag so I aerated those spots and raked some top soil in before I sprinkled more seed. I also added seed to more of my yard except for the area where they will be working on my deck. I am more than thrilled with the result. Excited that this year I'll have grass in my yard again.

I live in NJ and bought this mid September. Used it on several dead patches and in less than 2 weeks the bare patches (maybe a foot or so in diameter) are gone, and a few days later used it on a much larger section that sod wouldn't take and some expensive smart grass seed blend didn't as well which was a waste of money. This fast growing seed about a week out from seeding already has maybe 2" grass seedlings shooting up. I will have to do some fill ins but i still have plenty of seed to fill that all in. This works really well so far, we'll see how it holds up over winter and the summer weather. Going to add some fall fertilizer this weekend.

I have been using this for over two years. It always grows fast and works perfectly. I recommend it to y'all. Thank you so much for a good product at a reasonable price.

I live in a sandy soil area where grass is difficult to grow. But, this mixture worked where many others failed.

Fast growing grass but very very light green. So if you have a dark green lawn, I do not recommend. Mine looks two tone and awful due to light color of Jonathan Green fast Grow. Be selective and your lawn will look more beautiful.

This is the first grass seed that I've ever tried that actually grows grass. Works exactly as advertised. Five Stars!

Do not Buy - Seed is full of weeds! Used to fill in many bare spots, this seed ruined my lawn. It is full of weeds that have spread and destroyed an otherwise beautiful dark green lawn. Need to spend $1000 to have it all killed and re-seeded with anything other than Jonathan Green garbage grass seed! Zero stars!

So far so good. I am far from an expert when it comes to lawns. I used a de-thatcher first put down the seed and added a layer of Scott’s lawn soil. Raked it all in and watered it twice a day for a week. I’m hoping that this grass will last, from what I understand this is a temporary grass but it’s the only thing I have found that will take to our soil quickly. I mixed in some zoysia seed as well just in case this fails after a year as other reviewers had said. I’m located in Florida and unfortunately I don’t have an irrigation system which makes it tough to have a decent lawn. Especially one my family can enjoy. I’m sure in order to have a really nice lawn I would need to replace with sod and an irrigation system but I figured I would try this method first as the first option is way out of our budget. It looks great and I really hope it lasts. As time goes on I’ll continue the process throughout the rest of the yard and hopefully have a nice lawn we can enjoy. I’ll update if I notice any changes.
