Only lasted a year and a half, I expect more quality for a high end video card
The single star review is solely on the fact that I purchased in Dec '22 and the unit quit working Aug '24. that's only a year and a half of usage and it no longer posts. Otherwise the card performed very well for my Solidworks usage.

system crash all the time, don't buy this
I can't install any of the AMD drivers online either the current version or any historical versions. The system freezes at 97% and the monitor even squeaks at that percentage. Bought a graphics card for its 6 monitors output but end up with a brick. I searched online. There are a ton of users with the similar experience. Don't buy this.

This worked well in my workstation
This was recommended and this brand comes standard with my Thinkstation 620 in about 10 different models. It is designed for CAD use and not really games but still does well at everything. It is not a gaming first device. I used Performance test and it did well.

It's a GPU
I wouldn't normally consider a professional GPU, but then the shortage hit and this one actually started to be competitively priced w/r to regular GPUs. Which is kind of insane when you think about it - professional graphics usually cost at least double. Performance is, as expected, between RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT. I use Linux and the open source amdgpu driver is very well behaved with really good performance. A point of contention might be the leaf-blower cooling design, which is audibly louder than regular fans, but on the other hand gets the hot air out of the case instead of blowing it around inside. What the "professional" gets you, compared to the gaming-oriented GPUs for regular mortals, is a bit nicer firmware which doesn't seem to have some of the more annoying bugs vendor cards tend to have. This comes into play if you try to do more advanced stuff with your GPU like PCI-passthrough into a VM. (My previous XFX RX 580 had a PCI reset bug that I had to work around, for example.) (Of course the other things "professional" gets you are a bunch of certifications for professional applications and certified drivers, but the sales pitch would tell you that as well.) Finally, the looks. The card has a sort of minimalist design, which I prefer over most gaming cards that look like something out of a mecha anime. Thankfully, there are no LEDs that would blind you at night and prevent you from sleeping. What's missing as well is a backplate - which I personally don't care about but someone else might. The card is a bit longer than a standard ATX board, and so should fit into most cases. However, you have to remember the power connectors are on the back so you need slightly more room and can't get away with an "exact" fit. In summary, it's a good card for my purposes at this particular time. In fact I'm glad that I got it back when, as GPU prices only went up since. However, in every other market it just wouldn't be worth it for regular people, except for the professional graphics work that it is intended for.
