Happy Camper with this Bargain Tablet/Laptop
My five-star rating is relative to price. For the money I paid, it can't be beat.I have an android tablet with nearly identical memory size and processor specs. My android tablet chokes on bigger (Excel) files and things like interactive weather radar maps. The RCA handles both easily. It may be that Windows 10 works better for stuff like this than Android, or the RCA simply has more power (in spite of the similar specs) than my Android, I don't know.I have a USB connectible DVD drive. I used it to load the Microsoft suite of office products. Now I can review and edit Word and Excel files much more efficiently than I could on my Android tablet (when it could even handle the file). I added a 32GB micro-SD card and a 64GB USB flash drive. All of my critical files are on the USB flash drive (it's tiny), so I can just pull it out and keep in my pocket when I travel for more security. I also added a bluetooth mouse which works very well with the RCA. While Android has some of it's own advantages, Windows 10 is so much more functional for the stuff I do on my laptop/tablet.Pros:Small and light for those trips where I don't need full laptop functionality. The screen (for tablet mode) separates and reattaches to the keyboard very easily.Decent quality screen.Runs most everything I do quite efficiently for such a low-priced computer.Cons:The only real one I have is the keyboard. It's a little fussy. If I don't hit a key square in the middle, the keystroke doesn't always register. It's more of a hunt and peck keyboard because of that and it's size. That's O.K., I didn't buy this to write a book. One last thought: Walmart has this cheaper, but be careful as their version comes with a smaller processor. I will always opt for more power if the price difference isn't material.

Gives her access to at home keyboarding skills so it's nice having that word mobile on it for the stories ...
This is a neat little 2 in 1. I picked it out for my 11 year old for Christmas this year to replace a hand me down that's lucky if it works any given day anymore lol and doesn't have the ability to play some of the newest games coming out. She hasn't quite got it yet for obvious reasons but I've had a chance to play around with it to make sure it worked right away. The keyboard is small but it's not for me and I believe it should work perfectly for my small handed 11 year old. Gives her access to at home keyboarding skills so it's nice having that word mobile on it for the stories her and her sister like to make in notebooks. It would have been nice if they had included a much nicer charger. Not only does it come across as cheap, it likes to heat up a little at the wall plug in part of your charging and playing on it at the same time, which apparently takes 5-6 hours charging time from a completely dead battery, that's sad guys. But my ultimate goal for this purchase was something stater like for an 11 year old who would get something maybe 3x-4x as good if she can take care of this one for the next 18-24 months that would also be beneficial for school, like those times when they need to write a paper or something. I did over hear the science teacher at something about emailing him papers. So that why I liked this 1 for her. Buying the pink Viking pro for her 10 year old sister. This is the only thing they wanted for Christmas this year which is why I'm already on top of it. Things like this aren't cheap and I hate black Friday lol.I like this little thing because it's not just 1 gift. Her tablet going out on her when is her music player as well. Having this upgraded version makes it so it's like their own diary if she wanted. Or type her stories out. Play her music, portable video games. She's in band and I even saw sheet music on Google and YouTube when she started school so it works for that stuff too! I'm excited. I really only doc half a star for the charger but everything else is awesome about it.

but not without updating it and installing an SD card and the like. Pretty much making the experience of the person ...
I got this as a gift, but not without updating it and installing an SD card and the like. Pretty much making the experience of the person getting it...flawless and without all the dread of setting it up. So, yes this was for my parent! :P I wasn't expecting much,as I haven't had much dealing with RCA in the computer/tablet area, but love their tv's. I was pleasantly surprised and think this will make the perfect device for my parent, since what they do mostly is surf, take photos, and the occasional letter writing. For those needs this is a perfect device and I even managed a decent session with Photoshop CC with no real issues beyond being a bit slow, but totally useable. I definitely don't regret the purchase and would recommend to others looking for something down those previously mentioned avenues.

Bad Build Quality
This tablet worked fin out of the box. But only a few months in I began to have issues booting it up. No matter how long I would hold the power button it refused to power up. After a quick search online I discovered that this was a common issue, but one without a permanent solution. Now, it will only turn on after repeated presses of the reset button and holding the power button for far longer than should be necessary. There is also a known bug where the screen rotation will get locked in portrait mode when inserted into the included keyboard attachment. It will also discharge the battery in a surprisingly short time even while powered off. Charging is problematic and spotty. It basically charges when it wants, it seems. Finally, the screen has begun to turn off on its own. This seems to be related to some loose connection within the device itself since moving it will cause the screen to flash on and off seemingly at random. All my issues stem from the build quality of the device and not the operating system or anything like that. The included keyboard is of good quality.
