These pencils look great! They came bound together with a rubber band and all 12 of them were there. These are made from real tree branches and the ends show the actual growth rings! That said, they do leave behind a lot of tiny bark bits when you jostle them around. It's not a HUGE mess; just something to be aware of. There was no sap. The pencils are 7" long and roughly 0.5" thick. The listing was unclear on how much lead is inside, but I believe they tried to say that the lead is 1" long. If so, you won't be able to use these pencils "down to the nub" like you would an ordinary pencil but for my use, which is an outdoor scavenger hunt for the kids, these should be fine. The large size is great for small kids' hands but it also means the pencils may not fit into a standard sharpener. The pencils are pre-sharpened and this appears to have been done with a belt sander or similar. If you don't have one of those, you may have to try a utility knife or pocket knife to sharpen the pencils. Just be gentle – with only 1" of lead, it would probably be pretty easy to accidentally pull the whole lead right out and ruin the pencil. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. Not only do the pencils look authentic (because they are authentic) the lead writes smoothly and transfers well – I'm guessing it's #2 lead. I'd buy these again.

Not only are these pencils unique looking they are so functional!! My husband loves them! The lead is also DARK and this is so helpful when marking wood products! They were priced fair and shipped quickly! They were a great stocking stuffer but I believe they will become a staple in my husband’s shop! Will highly recommend!!!!

These or a gag gift for my brother in the military. He said he wanted wooden pencils so I delivered lol. My husband actually likes them..he is a construction worker and they have come in handy and a conversation piece. They really are quite unique. Write great. Wonderful quality.

We used these as party favors for our kids at True North VBS, and everyone loved them! They are a great size to go into a small paper bag with some other items, and matched our "outdoorsy" Alaska theme.

I purchased these for a gift basket raffle, they’re fantastic for that rustic retro look. The organization loved them. They definitely feel like sticks and are well worth the price. A fun addition for a retro game night.

These pencils are very fun. I bought them to put in a treasure box at the end of an escape room. The kids loved them!!!

As expected!

There is nothing I don’t love about these. I send a pencil to potential clients/partners with their company name on it. Campgrounds, rural organizations, etc. The only thing that might make these a bit more attractive is maybe a thin coat of ‘something’ to prevent the wood from peeling off when handled.

Fun to use, but they beak easily and difficult to sharpen.

Rather than a normal pencil with lead all the way down the spine the lead in these is less than an inch in length making them useless the second you ware down the tip :(
