nearly no excess liquid, good looking chunks, nice addition to pantry staples, YUM!
I'm pleased. The reviews vary greatly, so I figured I was taking a chance as I really didn't know what to expect. I am pleasantly surprised by how good these tins of white and dark turkey meat are. They are full of meat, with really no liquid (see my picture). It is more like a thick broth. I didn't bother straining any of it off because there simply isnt enough. Though I wonder if ambient house temp impacts this (currently winter, with cool house, with pantry in coldest part of house, so fats may thicken up)? Good sized chunks, good taste- albeit similar to chicken. I mean, its meat in a can so for the most part expect it to taste, smell, appear as such. If you don't like tinned chicken then you wont like this. If you are expecting carved turkey breast, you wont like this. It is canned meat, so it is what it is. And for me, it is exactly as I was hoping for, and so it gets 5 stars from me. The main thing for me is that it wasn't a tin of mush, and it wasn't a tin of liquid. I wanted to pay for meat, not water, and this has been so far a very good purchase. I'll buy again so long as price stays reasonable. Currently $15.60 for 12 cans. Very convenient. I dont rely on tinned meat for day to day living, but it comes in handy. I keep an assortment in my pantry- chicken, tuna, salmon, and now turkey. It makes for quick no fuss protein source for salads, crackers, sandwiches, and quick soups. But I also keep it on hand for emergency use. Good for SHTF as well as semi regular use. Not always able to get to the store, not always able to find foods in store, not always able to pay the prices, and so on. Also, I have two big dogs and 3 cats, so having extra meat on hand also reassures me that they will have nibbles in case there is food shortage for them. I just like having a variety of food available. I never bought tinned turkey before but now I plan to add it to my on going grocery/pantry list. Glad to have found something worthwhile to stock in my pantry. YUM!

Great For Cats, Ferrets, and Small Dogs
Expensive 'high quality' cat foods are the equal in price to many canned meats. The issue with canned meats is that often A LOT of salt is added. And that much salt is never good for any creature (humans or pets). I don't really like a lot of commercial pet foods. They have odd preservatives, bi-products, and often have some sort of additive from china. So I needed an alternative canned meat food with no salt. Our local store in my rural Alaskan village does not sell canned meats with no salt. And on Amazon- I'll admit the price of these was very expensive. But the price of these cans were also comparable to expensive pet food brands. And I'd rather opt for human-quality food for the same price. So I bought these cans. The cans come exactly as they say. Chunked WHITE chicken breast in water with no salt added. These cans would be amazing for baby food. I've pureed this food multiple times for my ferrets and they love it. My cats adore it. I often mix in a bit of raw egg as a 'sauce'. They eat it up. The cans come about 3/4 full of meat, with 1/4 water added. I've tried a bit myself. The chicken has a really nice taste- and you can tell it really is breast meat. It's quality white meat. Very good. And I love that there's no salt added. I think it makes it taste even better. And then you can judge how much seasoning you want to add on your own, rather than the canners deciding for you. The ingredients on this can literally just include "chicken meat, water, corn starch". The corn starch creates kind of a thick sauce out of the water. It's safe for animals to eat- as well as humans. I keep the sauce rather than drain it, when pureeing this food. It helps get a smoother texture. If you were going to use these cans for baby food I suggest keeping the sauce with the chicken. It purees really nicely. The chunk size is perfect for cats, small dogs, and ferrets. And I HIGHLY recommend this canned food for the purpose as a pet-food supplement. Add in a bit of raw egg for extra protein, and a 1/8th teaspoon of bone meal and you have a super high quality meal for your little furry children.

Not bad for Canned Meat! Always in my pantry.
As a busy college student, I am always on the lookout for quick and easy meal options that are also budget-friendly. That's where Hormel canned ham comes in! I discovered this product a few months ago and it has since become a staple in my pantry. I love the convenience of having a ready-to-eat protein option on hand. Whether I am in a rush in the morning and need to pack a sandwich for class, or I want to whip up a quick and easy pasta dish for dinner, Hormel canned ham is always there for me. The fact that it comes in a can makes it even more convenient - I can store it in my pantry for months without it going bad. In terms of taste, I have to say I am impressed. I was a little hesitant to try canned ham, but I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. The ham is juicy and tender, and it has a mild, slightly salty taste that goes well with a variety of other ingredients. I love to add it to omelets, salads, and even grilled cheese sandwiches. Another aspect of Hormel canned ham that I appreciate is its affordability. As a college student, I don't have a lot of money to spend on expensive cuts of meat, so this is a great option for me. It is also a great value - each can contains a generous amount of ham that can be used in multiple meals. Finally, I appreciate the quality of the product. Hormel is a well-known brand that has been around for years, and I trust their products to be safe and reliable. The canned ham is also free from preservatives, which is a plus for those of us who are mindful of what we put into our bodies. In conclusion, I would highly recommend Hormel canned ham to anyone looking for a convenient, budget-friendly, and delicious source of protein. Whether you are a busy college student, a busy parent, or just someone who wants an easy meal option, this product is definitely worth trying!

Great for salads... really only 3.3 oz of meat
I love tuna salad, but my doc said don't overdo it because of mercury in the fish. I like the taste of this (turkey). It is a little salty for me but if you drain the broth (liquid) the meat itself is not too salty, to me. It is, as stated, chunky, like canned tuna and not like Spam (a question in the Q&A section). I mostly use it on top of lettuce and other vegetable salad add ons. I usually eat a can so that's 25gm protein, which I like. OK the cat gets a pinch so it is a little less than 25gm, lol. What you are getting (label net weigh 5 oz): I dissected the can of turkey and what you are getting is 3.3 oz of turkey and 2 oz (liquid volume). So you are not paying , by weight anyway for the weight of the can; though you of course one is paying for the can + liquid + can in the overall price. Or I guess the other angle is that if you don't use the liquid, you are paying for 3.3 oz of meat; I was only gentle with the meat and did not press the lid down to squeeze the liquid out so it's likely it's more like 3oz of meat. By way of comparison the salt (sodium) for the turkey os 310mg/2oz verses 480 for ham and 260 for chicken, a question raised in the Q&A section. Chicken-of-the-Sea chunk light is 180mg/2oz and Think Pink Salmon is 270mg/2oz from the grocery store. The can and paper label go into the curbside recycling can(s). Overall, pleased with this product, serves my needs, it's a nice change from tuna or salmon. Edit/Update: Tried the White and Dark Turkey and endeared the White Tukey. The White & Dark is a better flavor to me- but each to they personal taste. The W&D is higher in fat than W, 1 versus 1.5 gm. Overall calories are the same, not sure how you add a little fat and the fat cals stay the same. Purchase in Feb 2019 and the expiration dates were September 2021.
