This is a great looking, well made lantern. It has a hole in the polycarbonate 'bowl' to let out any moisture, which is better than totally enclosed designs where condensation/moisture ingress always seems to be a problem. When fitting the bowl, the hole can be positioned towards the wall side, if you are worried that it spoils its appearance (I don't think it does). The body is aluminium (maybe black-anodised) so it remains to be seen if this will eventually corrode in our seaside atmosphere. The body is attached to the back-plate using a combination of: captive bolt > nylon washer > dome head screw I don't like this arrangement, as its 'fiddly' to assemble and would prefer: captive nut > nylon washer > hex head bolt However, many modern lights seem to have the same assembly method as this lantern. We are running ours with a 3 Watt L.E.D. bulb, which is plenty bright enough to light up our car in front of the garage. Note: Its not too difficult to fit this lantern, but remember that although this work is legally permitted by a home owner in the UK, you must be competent & have an understanding of electrics & electrical safety, & you will be responsible for any injury caused by your installation to others. If in doubt, use the services of a qualified electrician.

Great lights. Fitted them today with no problems. All fixtures and fittings are good quality. With your own choice of bulbs you can achieve the look yo want. Very pleased with my lights.

We love the "acorn" shape of the light glass dome. Lantern gives beautiful light and strong enough if you use the recommended vintage type lightbulb (6W translating into 60 W light) with slightly orange glass. I recommend buying the black model, though. The "antique bronze" is nonsense - some amateurish brush strokes with brown paint over the black-coated aluminum ( it is sturdy, though). But hey, no big deal - I'll paint it over with black hammerite! 🙂

Article de bonne facture. Notice très explicite. Joint pour chaque vis. Très solide. Globe en plastique cependant. Rendu vraiment sympa.

Artikel ist wirklich toll! Das einzige kleine ,Manko' ist, dass keine Aus/Einkerbung an der Halterung besteht, wenn das Kabel an der der Hauswand ist. Aber auch das kann man gut handhaben, so dass es nicht weiter auffällt :-)
