Simple to use, smart design
Its simplicity is wonderful. For years I had a Full Circle compost container that was a little bigger and had a lid that would pop open when you pressed a latch. (It eventually wore out.)With this container, you hang the lid from the lip of the container so you can throw scraps into your bag. The design allows air to flow, which prevents the buildup of odors. (You need a compostable bag to use a Full Circle container. Some people may be rudely surprised to find that out. But the combination of the bag and Full Circle's airflow design is precisely what prevents gross odors.)What I do to make it easier to remove stuffed bags: First thing, I removed the ring that is used to carry the container. It's not necessary for my purposes. When my bag is full: I pull up the top piece, which includes the small ring that keeps your bag in place, I put it aside and then I remove the full bag. It may take a little wiggling to get the bag free. Afterward, I give the container a good hosing down and let it dry. I put the top piece back in and add a new bag. Voila!

Compost bin
Great quality, easy to clean, functional even though it was smaller than I expected but still a good size, and the green is a bright vibrant color. Only down side is it doesn’t help with the fruit flies, almost seems like it welcomes them.

GREAT air circulation but needs MANY improvements...
OK - I like that this bin is open and allows air to circulate. I think it is much better as the compost doesn't break down as fast and get as wet with my old bin that 'sealed'. Seriously the oxygen circulation makes a BIG difference - especially with the annoying little black gnats that are around in warmer months and compost - especially as sanitation ONLY picks up compost once a week - and sometimes not even that often by me...I like that the lid can hang off the top of the bin as well. The color is OK - my kitchen happens to be green so it works. But those are the ONLY 'pros' I can claim for this product. The cons?1) It is too hard to get the bag off the bag holder - I just stuff in it and fold it over the sides of the bin anymore. (Sort of a pain to get it on the holder too.)2) The opening at the top should be bigger than the rest of the bin - it is easy to tear a bag or almost impossible to get a full bag out of this bin because the top of it is soooo much narrower.3) It should come with a detachable bottom - like a plate or something - sort of like a planter. If you have wet compost or the bag breaks - you will have an icky puddle on your counter or your floor - or wherever you put this thing. (Daiya's frozen Vegan Cheesecake plates actually fit this bin perfectly - like I press it into the plate and it still allows air to circulate but the plastic plate catches any wetness. I actually bought another cheesecake just so I would have another perfectly fitting plate as a spare - seriously.)4) The size you will think is good - until you realize that the opening is narrower. With that being said - if this thing were just a bit bigger - it would be MUCH better.5) Most ideally I would love this thing to be able to hang on my wall or off of my counter - that way it could sit above my garbage and be out of my way and yet still accessible. I was going to buy a long hook and attach it to the wall that way - but then again - the opening would become even smaller with the handle then always being constantly in the way - and almost impossible to then get the lid on and off while hanging... For now this tiny bin sits on the floor next to my garbage can. It is what it is, I suppose AND I don't even bother with the lid these days - except in warmer weather, of course. Otherwise it sits on my floor totally open. Sort of feel like I can just do this with a bucket from the dollar store... but again I do like that the air circulates through. So is it better than the bin the sanitation department gave to me? Absolutely! Hence the three stars. The oxygen circulation helps. But, sadly, it is far, far from what I wanted, expected, or needed.

Great countertop compost bin
We're really enjoying this countertop compost bin. We were previously using a large cup that we'd dump out every day. The only drawback I've seen so far is that the bags that came with it don't hold up very long so once it starts looking kinda full, go ahead and take it outside. It has definitely cut down on fruit flies and odor.

Don't waste your money!
This product is terrible! I was excited for it because of the air flow and less smell but it proved to cause me issues and make my life difficult. The compost bags break down in it after a couple days and then because of the holes on the bottom it leaked all over my counter and made a smelly mess to clean up. Then I put it in the dishwasher on the top to clean it (it brags that it's dishwasher safe) and it caused the handle to warp so now the lid won't fit! I wish I hadn't even wasted my money on it.

If you like having brown garbage juice all over your kitchen counter, buy this one.
This little bucket works okay for its intended purpose. Surprisingly, it doesn't smell even though it's vented top and bottom. So it's good until you try to empty it. First, it has sharp ridges on the bottom, so if you fill the bag too full it'll get pierced. That means brown organic gunk leaking out onto your counter, because of said holes in the bottom. If the bag is still intact, it won't be after you pull it through the overhanging lip at the top of the bucket. It's a jaw-droppingly dumb design. The opening is smaller than the interior of the bucket -- meaning your bag is guaranteed to be bigger than the opening. I have yet to pull a bag out without ripping the side (especially because they're the flimsy compostable bags). This thing is far, far more trouble than it's worth.

Composting
Our local dump now has composting. So glad to have this option and we use it daily. Cleaning is easy and the lid is crucial. Very happy with this purchase.

Great compose bin!
This product works great. I use 2.6 gal plastic bags. I keep it stored in the fridge. When it gets full, I tie the bag up and keep it stored in my garage fridge until trash day. Refrigerated compost doesn't have odor. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it doesn't have a handle on the side. So I added a handle......see photo.
