Karlsten Cat Deterrent Granules 650g – Anti Fouling Outdoor Garden & Patio Protection – Long Lasting Weather Resistant Scatter for Driveways, Paths & Gravel

We have tried many different types of repellants to keep cats out of our gardens but this has to be one of the best we have used. Still not perfect and requires regular applications but definitely one of the most successful granules we have tried.

My neighbours cat frequently fouls (poos!) on our lawn so i looked for a repellent that might deter the beast. I spread the granules on and around the areas that had been previously fouled. The instructions ask you to ensure 'that the area you are treating is as clean as possible from any signs of fouling....... Now this is a tough requirement as whilst I had removed the offending poo other than jet washing my lawn removal was the best I could do. They ask you to scatter the granules evenly at a rate of 3g/metre. For heavens sake I just scattered the product reasonably evenly without using my atomic scales to measure 3g leaving a pleasant citrus aroma that I hoped it would do what its said on the 'tin'! Sadly it completely failed to deter said cat who two days later promptly deposited fresh loads in the same area as the granules were spread. Its as if the granules attract the cat!! Karlsten Cat Repellent is basically useless and at £20 per 650g is a purchasing folly I wont be repeating!!

For 5 weeks it worked a treat so we put more down to refresh it after heavy rain but the cat was back. It was nice not having to clear up poo while it lasted but going to have to try something else now

Brought this to stop the cats coming into the garden and defacting everywhere, once I had spread them out it did seem to work and the cats stopped coming into over even really near the garden which was great. However once a week had passed and some rain had fallen the scent had worn off and the cats did slowly start to return, as they had smelt the repellent they have reduced the amount of time they come into the garden as the ascosiate the smell with the area. I probabaly wouldn't buy this again, partly as the product has worked a little and partly due to the fact that it washes away so quickly.

Having spent, what is quite a lot of money, on this product, I was disappointed to fine, having planted new plants in the border, that the following morning, there were two areas in which cats had defecated. I cleared up their filthy stinking mess and, having repaired the damage, re-covered the area with this cat deterrent. Imagine my anger when the following morning, I found that the creatures had returned and repeated their stinking delivery. I have again removed this pile of crap, repaired the area and re-laid the cat repellent. I am not very hopeful that all will be clean tomorrow morning!

Fantastic product would highly recommend

This does not work for even a second. I did what the instructions said on this product and also left a lot of it at the strategic places where the cat come do make a mess in my garden, unfortunately within 12hrs that I sprinkled the product all over the garden then I found a heap of cat foul as you can see on the photo. I won’t recommend this product.
