This is the best "road" tire for puncture proof. It is a bit heavier, for a competitive person, than the 5000. I use them on the rear.

This is the first Gator I’ve tried. It tracks and performs well in the three rides I’ve done. Make sure you have at least two levers for installation as I can’t roll these over the rim with my hands.

If you’re like me and ride around a city that has piles of road debris and are tired of getting flat tires these are the tires for you my friend. Are they the lightest? Nope! Are they the grippiest? Nah. But they do excel in preventing flats. They ride pretty nice especially at the wider widths. I’ve been running Gatorskins on my bikes for years now with great results. Now that I’m living in Florida it’s even more apropos. Oh and these are a struggle to wedge on to a wheel. Worth it. But it ain’t easy. Still 5 stars.

Gave it 4 stars since it was very difficult to put on a high performance wheel with a deep sleeve. seems like the tire should be slightly bigger to make it easier to put on. they are the best.

Great tires. Used on my first 50 mile race. No problems. Very smooth riding.

I have ridden over 1000 miles on this tire and it still looks almost new. I dug some tiny sharp stones out of it but it did not go flat. I generally run it at 110-120 PSI. Yester day I ran it at recommended pressure, closer to 100 lbs and got a snake bite flat from a stone. I recommend running them higher than labeled.

I have ridden about 17,000 miles on Gatorskins. The only flats I have had were when someone put tacks on the bike trail and one tube failure.

great tire. Prompt delivery. installed it on my 15 years old bike. However, since the bike was made for 23-25mm tires, clearance between the front derailleur clamp and the tire is about 2-3 mm. I learned that's another clearance one should factor in. Comfortable and reliable tire for the rear wheel.

Great puncture resistant road bike tire. A must for riding in desert areas, where cactus barbs accumulate on the road shoulders.

Amazing puncture protection, but still quite fast for a commuter tyre. I haven’t had a puncture in years with these, whether 23 or 32. In this size, it’s a great compromise: fast, not too painful on the wrists when you dial down the PSI just a notch, and tons of grip, even on greasy wet London streets. Just this week, I avoided a car crashing into me by braking so hard on wet street that I flipped the bike and myself over the front wheel. Painful but I still can’t believe the tyre didn’t just slide. Maybe even a great tyre for stunts. Expensive, but lasts forever.
