These stones were purchased for a friend. They are visually appealing and come in a nice bag, but when it comes to actually cooling down spirits, they fall short. They don't hold their cool temperature for long. So if you are looking for something that looks great, but only works okay then these are for you. If you would rather have stones that keep your beverage ice cold, I'd look elsewhere.

Because the stones are so small, you must use three at a time. So for two people to cycle through a couple cocktails it is a pain to have to re-freeze for a bit before using again.

Fine Spirits Chilling Stones are perfect for chilling your liquor without diluting your drink. The set came with 9 soapstone and a velvet carrying pouch neatly in a box. The description, 'how to use', and cautions about the product are listed on the box. These stones are FDA approved and super safe to use; won't scratch your glasses while using. These stones weren't' designed to make your drink super cold. The ideal is to cool your drink (whiskey, bourbon, scotch...) and make it enjoyable. The stone are super easy to use and keep clean. Prior to use the instructions suggest that you rinse prior to freezing but I washed mines, let dry completely, and then rinsed again before putting them in the freezer. I find that it rinsing them prior to placing them in the freezer cuts the freezing 3-4 hours vs 4-5 hours that is listed. The product is true to description and are a great addition to any bar or perfect gift to a spirit connoisseur. I am absolutely satisfied with my purchase and I honestly don't have any complaints about these chilling stones; it does as described in description box. So I will admit I am pretty impressed with these chilling stones. 9 comes in each order which is perfect for two or three people. I have been using 4 at a time in my mason jar cups. I love ICE COLD water and since I'm nursing a baby I am constantly drinking water. I don't like the taste of my water when regular (tap water) ice cubes dilute in the water. I can tell the taste changes. I was worried that this would do the same... the same as in taste weird. I don't taste ANYTHING! I couldn't believe it. They work great. Just holding the stones long enough to take a picture my hand was freezing! haha! It's really pretty cool! My husband has been using them in his cocktails in the evening. It is a nice and SIMPLE way to dress up a drink! I just wash them off after use, throw them back in the little bag and freeze them so they are ready for me. I would recommend these for a gift. These are AMAZING!!!! I never considered using these - as they are “Whiskey” stones. What AMAZING is that WHO CARES if they go in whiskey, pop, water… ANY beverage! I personally like to use them to get my beer EXTRA EXTRA cold without watering it down. They work FANTASTIC! They come in a beautiful package that includes 9 stones. I have been using 3-4 at a time. I am considering getting these for get togethers and getting a few sets. They take approximately 3 hours to get cold after being put in the freezer. To clean, you can simply rinse them and/or wash with soap and water. The fact that they get SO COLD is AMAZING. They are also FDA approved, so there are no worries there. I just absolutely LOVE the concept and these are PERFECT! I highly recommend these to anyone who wants to keep their drinks cold without diluting the flavor!
