I also really like the thick aluminum disc layered in the bottom which provides excellent heat conduction and prevents hot spots. The pot heats up quickly and evenly thanks to the tri-ply stainless/aluminum/stainless body. It works great on all cooking surfaces including induction cooktops. I've even used it in the oven without issues since it's oven safe. The snug-fitting vented glass lid is a nice bonus to lock in heat and moisture.
