Both can be adjusted (fixed opening) to fit smaller or larger diameter strain reliefs by unscrewing the center pivot screw and adjusting the geared jaw piece and setting the preferred opening distance. They are moderately easy to adjust. The only down-side is that they are kind of clunky and loose fitting. You also have to be careful with the spring when setting the preferred size. They also seem a little pricey too. Other than that, they are more or less THE standard for strain relief pliers. I would recommend them over many other cheaper ones, or pliers (needle nose or other tools). Review: I have been dealing with strain reliefs on cords for decades; I recently was talking with a technician I respect and he showed me these Heyco pliers. Looked pretty handy but the cost from my usual oulets was pretty steep. I checked on desertcart and found these for $15 under the going rate; I no longer have to mangle strain reliefs and chassis faceplates with improvised tools.
