My 18 year old Jack Russell refused to walk in, it was like a stiff jacket and the lead combo attachment just got me and him hanged up. You simply put it on the floor opened up, put the dogs front legs through the holes then lift it up tho their chest and fasten it round them, you can fasten it snugly to help them feel secure. The handle has plenty of adjustment and can be attached in three different positions down each side depending on which legs your dog needs supporting.
