I highly recommend this book
This is a book which is desperately needed in today's hectic world. I never knew that our breath had such power.Written by a master who knows of what he speaks, breath can connect us with other people, help us to sleep better and also to live better. He says that too much thinking means you are situated in your solar plexus center where thoughts and emotions are processed. The solution is to move out of this center into the one directly above, your heart center, using your breath, which is your connection to your higher source. After a few practices this will become routine and help you to sleep more deeply. This book is rich with exercises and wisdom of all kinds. I highly recommend it.

A very good book to learn how to breathe properly for good health.
Over the years I have read numerous books on various methods to breathe while doing yoga, tai-chi, the martial arts, and other meditation exercises. If fact, I have even taught what is often termed "Combat breathing" techniques. When I first saw this book advertised I decided to purchase it to see if it contained more information on proper breathing exercises. I am happy to report it has a very good breathing program to help anyone to learn how to combine your breathing practice for health and meditative purposes. This book is organized into ten areas. The first area covers a short history of breath and what we once knew. The basics of breathing are explained in the second section. Breathing and energy is explored in section three. Breathing and polarity is reviewed in the fourth section. How to counter stress is covered in section five. Breathing and meditation is emphasized in section six. Section seven deals with the healing breath. Your breathing day is taught in section eight. Section nine deals with the breathing voice and the final section explains your breathing environment and the sacred. This book has a lot of interesting and useful information on breathing techniques; however, in my opinion the primary flaw in this book is the author's mystical and esoteric approach to this subject rather than taking a more scientific and logical approach to learning how to breathe properly. In conclusion, if you are interested in learning some very basic breathing techniques to help you relieve stress and meditate more productively, you may want to check out this very informative bookRating: 4 Stars. The Next-Best Thing to a 'Live Teacher!
This book has been very helpful to me as a beginning meditator. Jack Angelo is an experienced guide and conveys the sacredness of the breath as the link between the physical and the spiritual. He says the secret of life and healing is the breath. There are many meditation exercises here, as well as discussions of our subtle energies and how to clear them, the chakra system and lots of information about our subtler bodies, healing self and others, and spiritual healing in various cultures. Some of the exercises take weeks of practice; but isn't meditation to be a life-long habit anyway, for there are no limits to the inner world. He recommends that you keep a journal. I have found that I've become less critical of myself as I go through the meditations. I'm not even halfway through them yet, but I feel this as a very high experience; I'm loving it!
