I have to say that these are far superior for my needs, and I’ll be buying more. The padding is much thicker on these than the other brand. The soft, mesh fabric is way more stretchy and breathable than the tight, plasticy non-breathable material of the other brand. The waist is higher on these and stays comfortably in place as opposed to the stiff banded, mid-rise waist that folds over on the other brand. My butt still gets a bit sore after really long rides, but not nearly as bad as with the other brand. It does feel a little bit like I’m wearing a diaper, but I will take that over being in pain. You can see the outline of the padded area in my photo. For reference, I normally wear size 14 pants and I got these in 2x. I noticed some of the other reviews complaining about not enough crotch padding, but I did not experience any issues with the crotch padding. That is normally not a trouble spot for me, even without any padding. I also like these because they are a bit more inconspicuous than regular length bike shorts.
