I didn’t buy this for baby-proofing — I got it specifically to keep my cat and dog from sneaking into places they shouldn’t, like my sliding closet and patio door. And I’m happy to say, it works perfectly! Setup was incredibly easy. No tools, no drilling, no fuss. I had it installed in under 2 minutes. I use it on both a glass sliding door and a wood-framed window, and it sticks securely to both. The twist-to-tighten design is super simple but really effective. Why I love it: My cat used to slide open closet doors like a pro — not anymore. My dog figured out how to nose the patio door open just enough to slip outside — not happening now. It’s discreet and doesn’t ruin the look of the door. I genuinely didn’t expect much from such a small item, but this lock has made a big difference in keeping my pets safe and my house in order. Amazing! Such a simple product but a huge impact. My two year old loves to slide his closet doors and play in his closet and I’m afraid he’s going to smash his fingers when I’m not watching. This little contraption has put me at ease. It keeps the doors shut, even if both of them slide it works in both directions (see video). In the flat position, it is thin enough to slide right through the gap without any snags on the door. I put it up high where my toddler can’t mess it with it and I have had no issues. My son also gets out of his bed at night so it adds an extra layer of safety to baby proofing his room for bedtime. I’ve been using about 4 months now and have no complaints.

This is perfect for sliding closet doors. I like how easy it is all around. The installation took no time at all. Put it up higher so my son couldn’t reach it. You just push the wings down to unlock. And slide the small lever to relock it. Exactly what I was looking for.

These locks are easy to install and the sliding mechanism is simple to use day to day. They fit our sliding door and window tracks without needing any tools. The lock itself works as intended once it is in place. The adhesive is not the strongest and I had to press and reset one of them to get it to stick well. After that it held better, but I still check it occasionally. Overall they are helpful, but the adhesive keeps it from a full five stars.

It's been installed since purchased and it's still on, works great and I guess it's not coming off any time soon, my surface is made of steel if it helps

Kept my son out of closet

I'm not using this for a human child. I just use this to keep sliding double doors closed. They slowly slide open on their own, and I want to keep a pet out of the closet. So, this closet doesn't normally get wrenched on it anything and the adhesive is keeping the device secure to the closet door.

Perfect shape and size, but it's fallen off twice now and all thats nudging the door is gravity and a medium dog.

The adhesive torn the wall when the door was accidentally opened. Perhaps my barn doors are too heavy for these.
