Great replacement camera plate
I was gifted a tripod missing its camera plate. I had no idea I’d this one would work for my tripod but it fit perfectly and even came as a pair which mean I can have on my video camera and one for my 4x5 view camera. It’s a simple item but it’s perfect for what it needs to do.

Works great. The 1/4-20 screw head is too small- 5 stars when that is bigger.
The 1/4-20 screw head is too small to do the job really well. I have other screws to replace it with. But, a shame they lose a star for that. The fit and finish of the plate is top notch.

It fits!
I was very impressed that Camvate made a replacement quick release plate for their quick release base! And it fits perfectly! If you have a Camvate quick release base and need a quick release plate for it, Camvate has the perfect solution! Now I have 2 plates!

Definitely worth it
Does what it’s supposed to do. Great value for money. Seems durable. No complaints, although the price is almost too low. Is it going to shear in half with $5000 of gear on it? Maybe, but it doesn’t seem like it. Would recommend!

No option for alignment pin
With a long video camera lens the camera doesn’t want to stay aligned on the plate. The better 501 plates have the second pin to keep it centered. Their was no screw option to put in the pin like the rc2 plates The adapter bushing is loose fitting . It keeps the screw from falling out of the slot.

Not great, avoid.
Plate design does not allow it to move forward and lock. So the camera is hard to balance on the tripod. You can force it past but the safety catch does not work so if you don't have it locked then your camera could fall off. Also, the metal screw that comes with these plates are terrible and don't work so well. I would not buy these again.
