Could try it on any scar but may take a longer period if they are big/deep.

What's the difference between this one and the silicone scar gel?

I don't know. My physician, after removing several skin cancers on my neck just recommended one with silicone and I chose this one. My scar is barely visible.

it can be used for a boy of 2 years old ?

That could be a difficult answer for a 2 year old. But, I am a retired RN and I have tried many products. This is truly one of the best products I purchased online. It softens the scar and helps to deminish it. My favorite product post face surgery. Why not give it a try? It did not burn or sting on me but I am older. I am actually going to purchase it again.
