Coleman Cabin Camping Tent with Screened Porch, 4/6 Person Weatherproof Tent with Enclosed Screened Porch Option, Includes Rainfly, Carry Bag, Extra Storage, and 10 Minute Setup

We have used this tent once so far, on a 2 night camping trip in Florida. It did not rain so I cannot speak for that. Set up is easy and with the exception of the rain fly, I (female) was able to set it up by myself. The rainfly was a different story and I had to ask for help as I failed miserably at trying to be independent. Pros: The porch, love having an area to escape the bugs and take shoes off in. The size- its huge! We are a small family of 3, but pack a lot! This tent has space for it all. Airflow- this tent has amazing airflow, which also helps eliminate morning dew inside the tent. Nothing was damp in the morning from dew, unlike our other tents. Windows- huge windows with the ability to zip up, or halfway with the strap secured at the top, allowing airflow but still giving privacy. Cons- Zippers, the 3-way zippers are a pain and will take time getting used to. You basically need to use both hands to operate but I always seem to be carrying something, leaving me one-handed, awkwardly trying to open. The 3 zippers will also leave a small opening where they all come together. You can get them closed, but again it’s a two hand operation, on the floor. Mesh strip in the porch- I see where they were going with this design, but it’s a no for me. Flooring- seems thinner than other Coleman tents I’ve owned. Definitely want to use a ground cover.

Forgive the heavy breathing. I started taking down the tent before I remembered to take a video for review and then had to put it back up to pull it down again. Now for the actual review. The tent is easy to set up; however, for my first time and making a few mistakes, it took 30 minutes on my own. This tent is an upgrade from my 2-person tent and can hold a twin or queen-size bed with space to walk around. I'm 5'4" and was able to stand fully. The quality seems fine, but only time will tell. The biggest con I had with this tent is that it lacks loops for lamps in the dome; lights will have to be placed on the floor.

We have had this tent for a year now. Three different trips, and we are pleased with our purchase. I had a budget, my husband is 6’4”, and we wanted something he could stand up in. Naturally, that limited our choices. I hesitated buying a Coleman tent because my past perceptions have been that they are kind of cheap feeling and wouldn’t hold up. So far so good! And very nice tent for the price of a night in a hotel room. Things we love: 1. it’s a good warm weather tent with lots of bug proof, mesh. 2. Love, love the covered screen porch. It makes a nice landing spot for shoes and it’s big enough for a couple of camp chairs if it’s buggy, or even to sit in while you put on your shoes. 3. We are getting older and after knee surgery, my knees are tired of crawling in and out of a tent. The tent is tall, but so is the door. 4. It’s big enough for a full sized queen mattress, all our junk at our fingertips, a chair inside, and a big bed for the Great Dane who camps with us without feeling crowded. 5. Once you get the hang of it, it goes up pretty quickly. And once staked out it doesn’t feel like it’s going anywhere in windy weather. 6. The windows zip and unzip on the inside, which seems like a no-brainer, but apparently isn’t. Quirky things, not necessarily cons, but to be aware. 1. I wish the rain fly had more coverage, it hasn’t leaked yet, but we haven’t had a really heavy storm in it yet, so who knows 2. It goes together counterintuitively to any tent rain fly I’ve ever put up, so a bit confusing at first. We keep thinking the Coleman label should be in the front, but it’s not. 3. I wish it had a central light hook, but the pockets work ok for that. And with the barrel design it wouldn’t work, anyway. 4. The floor seems a bit thin, so I feel like a heavy duty tarp is essential if it’s rocky or you are in the mountains. 5. This is definitely not a cold weather tent. All that mesh and the tall ceiling will not keep you warm.

I upgraded my 4 person to this 6 person tent. This tent is HUGE! We fit comfortably in the tent and had room for luggage too. It's easy to get in and out of the tent with the height clearance but you do need to bend down to unzip the screen and door. The screened porch is nice to have. The rain fly doesn't cover it fully so your items will get wet if it rains. There is a mesh gap in the floor so water doesn't flow into the tent from the screen's floor. It didn't rain so no experience with weatherproofing. It's then only tent I have used that doesn't stand on it's own with just the poles; you have to stake the tent to help hold the shape of the tent. It took me 20 minutes to setup by myself. But as usual with all my coleman tents it takes 5 to 10 minutes to put the tent back into the bag; one thing coleman hasn't improved on yet.

Took this tent camping 2 weeks ago, it did rain but we had zero water intrusion. This is an excellent, roomy design, and I love being able to stand up in it. It lacks a center roof hanger for gear/light but it does have ample pockets in the rear corners. I will be installing some wire string LED's to provide light this weekend at a Scout camping trip. It's gonna be a wet one, will update this review if I have any issues. One last note - this tent is THE BEST TENT I've ever used with regard to ventilation. I had this tent set up in my back yard for a Scout meeting, and everyone noted how it felt cooler in the tent than it did outside. My wife and I were very comfortable camping in 80 degree weather. **update - I've now been using this tent for 2 years with frequent camping trips with the Scouts. I've installed LED string lights which was a great upgrade. This tent is definitely on the large side, so there have been times where finding a good place to put it has been a challenge, but the benefits outweigh this potential downfall. The way this tent is designed, there is always ample air flow at all times, as it seems to capture the wind from any angle and passes it through the tent. It's great for me and one other person with all of our gear, and still having PLENTY of room to move about and stand upright. I do recommend waxing the zippers regularly. The screened "porch" makes it very easy to keep the dirty boots out of the main area.

We got the 6 person for the two of us. PROS: - comfy for 6ft tall person - big enough for queen mattress with room to spare (pushed to back and 2-2.5 ft all around) - porch is fine for two people to sit in camp chairs and not feel like the porch screen is coming in on you - decently easy set-up compared to other large tents with lots of poles, the third set-up I was able to do by myself. Stake the tent down first in all four corners. It took 10-15 min. - the packing bag expands and the everything fits back in pretty easily. - the front sides of the rainfly that extent off the porch are pretty long and would give privacy - kept rain out for two days and we didn’t do any extra sealing CONS: - not really anywhere to attach something from the ceiling or the corners. - large, which is comfortable, but also means it is a bit colder - the side windows don't get an overhang from the rainfly, so rain can get in if not closed most of the way - the 'porch' has a fairly good overhang and probably wouldn't get wet from fairly straight down rain, but unsure about side rain

6-person tents are always pretty big, but how big is this one? "Big" doesn't begin to describe it. The photos don't begin to describe it. Even the listed dimensions barely let you visualize it. But it hits you when you unroll it and set it up. It's cavernous, colossal, gargantuan, Brobdingnagian. It's FREAKING HUGE. You could set up most other 6-person tents *inside* this one and they would barely brush the ceiling. If the doorway opened wider you could park a small car inside of it. I'm not joking! You really could; this tent is larger than a standard 'compact car' parking space. The interior dimensions are 13' long and 10' wide, but that's only the main room. When you add the fly and the screened vestibule/front porch (easily big enough for three chairs) you've got a covered/screened area of more than 160 square feet. Is this beast of a tent a bear to assemble? Considering its sheer size, it goes up fairly easily. One person can set it up in 20 minutes or less, but it takes less than 10 minutes for two people. The corded fiberglass poles are long and unwieldy, but there are only 4 of them and they're color-coded so it's hard to go very wrong. Take note: it's *not* a freestanding tent. The corners need to be staked down, as do the front wings of the fly. We all know this can be a hassle if the soil is rocky, so that might be a purchase consideration. The tent and vestibule have waterproof bathtub floors with a section of mesh between them, so any rainwater that falls on the porch can drain through to the ground instead of pooling next to the tent door. The vestibule is fully screened and zippered to keep critters out. A different version of the tent has a larger fly which fully encloses the vestibule. The main room measures 13' long and 10' wide. The rear and side walls have giant screened windows, which also zip up for privacy. The roof is screened and open to the sky, and if you're not concerned with rain or dew you can leave the fly off and see the stars. Privacy is fine with the fly off because the roof is so tall. It all packs down into a carry bag about the same size as a bulky rectangular sleeping bag roll. The tent and bag are compressed for shipping, but the bag has a clever expansion seam on its long side. The tent fits pretty easily back into the bag when it's time to break camp. If you're looking for a truly enormous tent for 'clamping' or large-family camping, this beast has all the room you'll need. The biggest question is whether you need this much tent!

This is a great tent. We went with the 6 person tent which fits a queen aero bed nicely. You could also fit a single blow up. This tent has been used twice and it is big enough to stand in, easy to set up and no water so far! It is worth putting in the rubber flooring you piece together. I love that I can put up myself if my husband isn’t with me!!

Me gustó mucho el tamaño de la casa, es relativamente fácil de armar, es más complicado guardarla, en el día guarda muy bien el calor, esta muy bien ventilada, caben muchas cosas adentro, la altura que tiene la casa te permite estar de pie. pase 5 días excelentes en el bosque. saludos

Llevamos ya alrededor de 3 meses con la casa de campaña, en un inicio no sabíamos si comprarla y estámos muy contentos, el diseño es super espacioso, hemos estado en lluvias fuertes con viento y todo bien, no se filtra el agua y aguanta bien la casa, punto importante, por el diseño que tiene no se puede montar en lugares como en el piso tiene que ser a fuerzas en algun lugar donde se puedan clavar las estacas a diferencia de las que tienen diseño de los tubos cruzados.

Pro: Probé esta casa en Sierra Gorda a 3K msnm y todo muy bien, se le cuela un poco el frio a esa altura (debe ser 3 temporadas) pero nada grave. Bajo la lluvia todo muy bien ni una gotera y las ventanas sellan bien para evitar que se filtre el agua. Si estas pensando acampar con niños esta tienda es perfecta para ellos, les da espacio y se sienten cómodos con la altura que tiene. Con: Como toda casa de campaña hay que comprarle aparte unas buenas estacas, las que trae son muy sencillas, en nuestro primer viaje doblamos una por que pego con una piedra. Le hace falta mas bolsas a los lados para poner cosas, tiene mucho espacio que podría ser utilizado de mejor forma. La bolsa que trae para transportarla también es muy incomoda cuando la tienes que cargar distancias largas, las asas cortan la mano después de un rato.
