VornadoVelocity 3R Whole Room Space Heater with Timer, Adjustable Thermostat, and Advanced Safety Features, Black

I used this in a fairly small man cave in my basement, approx 14' x 10' as a supplemental heat source. But, in all honesty, I keep my house heat very low and the heat to this room is even less, so when in the cave, the house heat very seldom comes on.This is the only electric heater that I have found with 3 actual heat (different wattage) settings; 750, 1125, and 1500.I set the temp, at any heat setting (this is important) to 62 degrees. The heater will heat to 63, turn off, and come back on when the temp drops and just touches 61. I might add, this is very consistent, and once again, can be attained at any of the three heat wattage settings. This is very nice temp differential and is extremely hard to find in a space heater of any kind.The fan speed is increased with the wattages and is quiet and smooth sounding; not objectionable at all in my opinion.The 3R keeps my little man cave very comfortable even though I only use it when I am in there working out or watching tv.I live in Michigan where there are real winters. It is January at present and my basement man cave will get down to 52 degrees at times when it is real cold out side, bearing in mind again, that I keep my house around 60 - 62 degrees.My wife and I just add another layer of clothing. Much less expensive than running the heat excessively.We are both 74 years young and active so we generally keep moving both when out and at home.There is a lot of detail here but many of us when looking for something like this, need questions like these answered with no place to find them.So, happy reading and go out and make an intelligent, informed decision!

I've been a big fan of the MHX heater. Bought a 2nd one here recently for my office, but it stopped working after a couple of weeks. Wasn't too upset, just figured I got unlucky. Was just gonna swap it for another one, when I saw this "new version" for the exact same price, so I swapped for this instead.30% hotter? 39% faster? Heater that travels farther? Yup, I believe. Definitely does all those things. The downside though of an obviously more high powered fan is that there's a lot more noise. The MHX's are super quiet, one of the things I love about them. But quiet this is not. The noise is definitely noticeable. Not annoying, but you absolutely know the heater is on.So is the extra heat worth the noise? Depends. I actually ended up moving this to the living room and moving the MHX I had in the living room into the office. Worked out better that way.Oh and the smell when you first turn it on? Went away in 20 minutes. No biggie, pretty par for the course.

I live in Texas. I don't have central heat. Usually, I don't need it. Couple of space heaters and I'm fine for the majority of our winter.But you may have heard about our big Texas freeze last week. I bought this little guy because my flat mica one had a hard time with bigger spaces.This isn't a whole house heater. Obviously. But I blocked off my living room entryways and the days I did have power, I ran this heater and it was great. I'm not saying I was sweating but it was 3 degrees and I did ok with this, a hoodie, and an electric blanket. And that's after the house had gotten so cold at one point my shampoo and conditioner froze. It heated up quickly.Some things. Yeah, it can feel like it's blowing cold air but I realized it's blowing warm and that's just the cold air in my house moving. Give it a few. I could see my breath in my house and after about 20 min of this running it had already reached a comfortable temp.Old house things. Space heaters are iffy in my old house. I bought a small cheap one to put by my dog's bed and I could only run it for about 30 min before the plug getting dangerously hot. I ran this for a couple of days straight on medium, no issues. A few hours on hot and the plug was warm but not dangerously so.This was a lifesaver and probably the best purchase I've made in years.Oh, and when it hit 30 degrees outside, it actually was warm enough that I went without the hoodie with this running.

The media could not be loaded.  I like the Vornado brand. I have a fan for the summer and it does a great job circulating air and it’s quite. This does the same great air circulation, but I have two complaints. It is very noisy! Some times it wakes me at night when it turns on. Second is the “thermostat”. When you turn it up higher it does provide warmer air. However, it does not keep the room temperature consistent. I’m not going to return it because it does warm the room quickly and it was not expense. If you want a quiet heater, this is not it.

Ok, so here’s a real review for real people…not the snobby, hard to please people. First…the unit is NOT noisy. It’s actually very quiet. If you’ve ever used the 25 dollar Walmart heaters, it blows about 3 times as hard as that, and gets twice as hot, while making less noise. Solid product, but NOT a replacement for central heating. It will keep you from freezing to death when directly in you, but it cannot serve as your primary or only heat source. Another thing…I live in an old house, and this heater’s actual wattage is lower than advertised. I can run it all night on high, with an extension cord, and neither the cord nor the wall socket gets hot. So that’s a plus for me.

This heater is much louder than other space heaters from Vornado. I bought it because the AVH10 was unavailable, but it is MUCH LOUDER, even on the Low heat setting. It heats well, but only because it blows its fan very hard. What you really want is something with larger fan blades, so it can move a decent amount of air without turning the blades too fast, which makes a lot of noise. Vornado did a great job with the AVH10, but this one is too loud for use in any room where people sleep, watch TV, or are trying to talk. Will be returning it for sure.

Calienta bastante bien y es fácil de usar. Pero para recámaras grandes, se siente bastante la diferencia en el tiempo para calentar.

Louder than i thought and the plastic smell hasnt burned away after 3 days of use
