You should be using Yamalube transmission oil plus. We wouldn't suggest 10w40.

Is this full synthetic?

No this is regular organic oil, if you would like synthetic oil this is Yamaha's full synthetic oil LUB-15W50-FS-12 - 15w50 full synthetic
