Awesome product! My wife and I drink a good bit of water, and with the gigantic Stanley water bottles, a filter pitcher in the fridge was no longer getting the job done. We wanted on demand, cold and fresh water. This machine was exactly what we needed! It's quiet, doesn't eat up any floor space and there's no jugs to carry! I installed ours in about an hour, I bought a used one so that could have been my problem but I had a leak from the "tee" fitting to tap a sink line. I went out and bought some of the pictured O rings from my local hardware store and we're leak free since. Definitely read the directions first prior to doing anything, I definitely made it harder than necessary. And turn on the machine before you try and run water through or you'll get nothing like I found out. We've been using ours for almost a month now and the taste of the water is amazing! No chlorine or city water taste, the hot water works well and is very convenient and it hasn't missed a beat. I highly recommend!

Our water from the faucet is frequently brown/yellow colored. And we live within 1/4 mile of our local Water Treatment Facility. Lenoir City Utility Board said our yellow/brown water is safe to drink but I don't want to. I think water out of the faucet should look like water! This water doesn't even taste good and I don't even want to give it to my dogs to drink. We have used a Zero Water Filter Pitcher for a few years but we have to refill it numerous times a day. And when you do that then the water is never very cold. I saw this on Amazon and it was a very good price so I ordered it. My husband who is a plumber, among many other trades. It took him about 3 hours. We did have to drill a hole through our granite top and he is very particular about the way his work looks, even if it is under a sink. So that does take him a bit longer than your average plumber. (Because he's above average!) The Hot water is HOT! And it's awesome! And the cold water is cold and I was able to fill my gallon jug up with water today for the first time in years! Replacement filters are a little expensive but they should last for around 6 months (1,500 gallons). They are $99 for the set and if you subscribe you save 15% on the Avalon website.

Easy hookup and great quality

I bought this 4 months ago. Followed all directions. Everything is installed correctly (charcoal filter after the sediment filter, etc). The unit functions as desired. On initial setup, I ran 2-3 gallons of water through the system. I've run water through it for 4 months now, and yet the water it outputs still tastes distinctly of charcoal. And, now, as I look to replace the filters, I find out they are an expensive, proprietary format. Overpriced, with an off-tasting output. I ordered 2 new after-market filter housings, and 4 sets of generic 2.5 x 10" sediment/charcoal filters, all for about the price of one set of the mfg's proprietary replacement filters (modified setup shown in photo). The new filters produce perfect tasting water (which really has no taste at all). If the original filters would have actually worked properly, I would probably have given this 3 stars, even with the proprietary format. The unit itself functions fine.

I installed this cooler WITHOUT the filter set as the water line is already filtered with a micropore three-stage system. Installation was simple, but I did have to go to Home Depot for a compression fitting and cap. Once installed the cooler started up and cooled the water effectively, but the water coming out was AWFUL. Very strong metallic tang. I had to run about ten gallons of water through it over several days before it started dispensing the clear tasty water that my other filtered devices enjoy. It's operating flawlessly now, with no hint of the (contamination?) after installation. Overall I'm very happy with it. Just wish it had dispensed clean water initially.

This counter top water dispenser is awesome !. Up until I had this, I had the old style water bottle unit. I hated going out / refilling, and carrying 18 Litre bottles up and down the stairs at my apartment. Also the old water bottle method, it tasted like plastic, and was never cold enough. This Avalon unit has two methods of filtration for both sediment and carbon. The instructions for the set up was fairly easy, and I had it done in no time. No drilling or tools needed either ,other than a wrench to loosen the cold water service nut for installation. It’s quiet and even has a small night light. Water is cold , crisp and clean with all the contaminants taken out. I do recommend to read the instructions carefully though. So far I absolutely love this Avalon product !!!

This is exactly what we were looking for. It only make noise during the cooling cycle, but most of the time it’s completely silent. It was very easy to hook up. There is a little bit of maintenance with this machine. I would like the water a little bit colder and the replacement filters are expensive.

We love this water dispenser! Hot and cold water on demand. Water is hot enough for tea or hot chocolate. Water is colder than what our old fridge used to supply. Easy to hook up. Filters are a bit pricey but you only need to replace them every 6 months, depending on how much you use. Light switch is useless unless you want to go searching the back of the unit in the dark.

What a garbage machine. We’re on our 4th machine in 4 years. They all freeze inside. Avalon makes you pay to buy a new thermostat, and it’s difficult to change, and turns out it wasn’t the thermostat. They stopped responding. Stay away from this garbage.
