Cheap price for good quality product!
I thought $27 was a bit much for a toilet seat, but after going threw numerous cheaper seats, I caved and got this one. Now I think $27 was a steal!!! This seat belongs in a much nicer bathroom!!! Lmao I love it. It's super classy looking and matches the hardware in the bathroom perfectly. It's also super strong!!! Does not slam. The lid goes down slowly. Installation was easy and pretty standard. Wipes clean easily. I've already sent links to all my big bootie friends and family!!! Which is all of us!!!!!

Great Quality "Slow Close" Toilet Seats!
I wanted to replace all our old toilet seats, as I wanted the slow close design...I priced them at numerous stores and found Amazon had the best price by far. I purchased a total of three seats and love how they look and especially love that they are all "slow close," no more banging toilet seats. Thank you!

Lost close to an hour installing that I’ll never get back!
This has been the biggest ordeal putting a toilet seat on a toilet I’ve ever dealt with. First, the seat is acts nice look, but that hardware on the back is ridiculous!!!! I spent over a half hour twisting and turning and it still slants sideways when I open it! I have never in my life been so intimate with the back of a toilet. I just hope it lasts years, because I can’t imagine having to do that again anytime soon. Can’t someone make seats that are comfortable and easy to install without silly hardware that only makes sense to the person who created it!!!!????!!!! I am updating my experience now that I’ve had the seat for a couple of weeks and I must say it is very attractive and a nice quality. I’ve added a couple more stars, but can’t give it the full five stars because of the ordeal described above.

Beautiful and Elegant
We got the round toilet seat and it nicely fit our very old bowl. The seat is elegant and beautiful. My favorite are the black hinges and shiny white coating. Oh, yes, and the soft close! It feels very sturdy and locked in place. My husband said it was easier to install than others, and took only 15 min. Overall, it was a great purchase. I prefer when the cover of a toilet seat is vertically (flush) aligned with the seat instead of it being beveled, so that I don't have to stick my fingers midway on the seat in order to open it. So, I've adapted to using the side of the cover to open now. My complaint is about the manufacturer's pictures which can be misleading.

If you have OCD pass!
UPDATE: We're a year in, and it's still holding strong! More so than its other brand predecessors, three times in a nine-year span. Also, I do not have any peeling paint as stated in one of the other reviews. Love the toilet seat itself. We will see if I should have paid more attention to the ‘peeling paint’ reviews with updates. (no men or boys in the house!) The first one, I thought, was just a defect. The left hinge has separated slightly, allowing you to see the clear/white plastic insert. Fast forward to almost standing on my head to remove the replacement for my last cheap one, then to the replacement for the replacement, and you guessed it. Now, it is separated on the right hinge. So if ‘uneven things’ annoy you, keep shopping. I gave up and will not take this off to find a replacement. I will call it a day and maybe hit it with a black Sharpie, so it’s not so obvious. It’s a shame, but the seat is good and sturdy so far; I'm just disappointed with the hinges. This could possibly be because this toilet is the original since I moved in; how long it was here before that, who knows? Perhaps it's twenty years old, and perhaps the main holes are just a hair wider than those of a newer toilet. (I live in a rental - you do the math!) Bonus: the replacement does not have a tiny imperfection on the lid. Yes, we're back to that OCD thing again!

Perfect
It’s perfect. It’s attractive, seemingly sturdy, easy to install and closes softly and quietly. Replacing the original, whose finish was worn after years of cleaning. Note, do not use a bleach cleaner. It will dull the finish.

A bit tricky to install for the DIY crowd
Package arrived last night, installed today in about one hour. My model is the 826 CHSL (Benton) in White (000). The slow close hinges work great. The toilet that the seat is installed on is a Glacier Bay from Home Depot. Bowl is round! Folks--- do your measurements if you do not fully understand the differences between an elongated bowl or a round bowl.... As other reviewers have noted, and the install video explains fully, the tightening of the seat/lid assembly to the toilet bowl is done from the bottom side. This presents some logistical issues depending on the amount of room you have to gain clear access to the bolts. Bemis/Mayfair explains that a 1/2" socket or wrench will work. Also, 13mm is put in parentheses. I highly recommend the 13mm, which technically is just a bit larger, Google says .511811024 inches while 1/2" would of course be only .50 Once I inserted the full/all thread bolts, so to speak (they have no head at either end), the seat/lid was somewhere between full closed and open. It was necessary to hold the seat/lid assembly at an angle to have it be true vertical within the mounting holes of the toilet bowl. Not a big deal, but a helper set of hands may be useful. I needed the straight up and down to properly thread the special nuts that Bemis supplies. An inner nut with attached washer break free from one another as you thread them onto the 'all thread' bolt. You'll see how it all comes together, nice and tight once you progress forward. I would recommend a 13mm ratcheting wrench for the long attaching nut(s). Spacing for me below the lip of the bowl was tight. It was somewhat difficult to get a 13mm 'deep' socket to line up vertically. Do as much hand tightening as possible before any tools. Kudos to Bemis/Mayfair for their double headed nut design, in which the exterior end breaks off when you have reached proper torque on the long nut assembly. This pulls the hinge down from the top nice and flush with the bowl mounting surface, and seats that inner washer and nut into the bowl's mounting hole. I then tightened perhaps 1/10th of a turn more with the longer/taller interior nut once the short/exterior one had snapped off-as designed. The 1/2" deep socket would indeed fit-but it is quite tight and dealing with porcelain you want to avoid a lot of potential excess stress or movement with your tools down there. Baby strokes with any wrench or socket, you sure would not want to chip or break anything of the toilet itself! All in all it seems to be a quality made unit. Yes, it does take perhaps 15 seconds for the entire seat and lid to reach full closure. Not a big deal to me. I like that it is real wood, and sturdy for those times I have to climb up on it (150lb male) to reach a cabinet's upper shelving. Will update once it passes the test of time....
