Vampire Trials: The Summoning : A Paranormal Reverse Harem Romance (The Vampire Trials Book 1)

WOW! This story is so original. It has a uniqueness that draws you in and doesn’t let go. The only thing I would have liked to see was a bit more editing. There was some places that were missed. It wasn’t very many and it wasn’t enough to distract but you can still see them. That being said the story has fantastic characters and it is full of action, drama, and suspense. Yes, it does end in a cliffhanger but boy is it still good. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I stumbled upon this author on Tik tok, and decided to give her books a try. I’m always down for some good supernatural lore, and this book did not disappoint. It was engaging, and super sexy. Definitely was surprised by the sexual content, but it was integrated really well into the story. My only complaint is that the book is so short! Excited to see what Scar and her gang of supernatural lovers get into next!

This is hunger games with vampires, adult themes and far too much/fast action. Everything is crammed together and the plot lurches forward at a break back speed. It’s not bad, by any means, in fact, it’s quite interesting - but it’s too quick. The relationships, all four of them, develop with no build, the secrets are revealed with little pomp and the methods are thrust into the spotlight with no flair. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good idea, just should have been stretched out a bit more for details sake and character connection. At this point, I feel nothing for any of them. I was told a story, but I didn’t feel like I was part of it. PNR, RH, dystopian. 1st person, single POV, MMMMF, Fast burn. No build.

This story has potential but it was a bit rushed. English not being my first language i could easily find grammar errors and it distracted me a little. I love a good fast burn RH and insta-loved stories but this was a too rushed, the sex scenes were done quickly, like wham bam thank you mam, no real foreplay. The vampire males characters, Colt, Finn and Drax are not your typical badass, alpha or a$$ like we usualle read about. They are damaged males with no real guts. Maybe it will change in later on in the series. I liked the Hunger Games/ The Purge vibes of the story and it had plenty of action. Like i said this story has potential for a first read from this author. Great ending with that cliffhanger makes me wants to grab the next book to see what will happen next. P.S. Gorgeous cover!! This book is very fast paced and keeps your attention. She gets straight to the point and doesn’t leave you hanging waiting for things to build. It’s full throttle the entire time and I’m here for it. The book is a cross between all of the things I love and I can’t wait to read the next in this series and more from this author! I purchased this book on my own from seeing her videos on TikTok and I promise you won’t be disappointed!

I loved having a lead woman who was powerful in her own right and not the typical damsel in distress. The world that was created was realistic as it was fantastical, which made it very easy to picture. This book was a wild ride from start to finish and I can’t wait to read the next one.

I average hopes for this book. It is a first novel so the author is just getting her feet wet. As first novels go it isn't a totally bomb and I intend to at least attempt other books by this author because I do enjoy her style. Now, there is fast paced and then there is rushed. This book felt like an incomplete first draft of a novel. There was absolutely no development with the relationship between the character and thus, all the "I would die for you" comments came out of the blue and felt incredibly weird. The sex scenes were short, unflavored, forgettable, not detailed, and awkward at best. I'm not asking that every bead of sweat be described but literally it was an old "somehow my clothes were on the floor and he was inside me and then we climaxed and put our clothes back on." There was so much telling and not showing that it got very very frustrating. It almost seemed like the author meant to go back and add stuff there. The story is interesting, the lore is interesting, and I do intend to try the second novel, however, if it is as rushed as this i do not plan on carrying on with any more novels by this author. My fingers are crossed. ETA: upon reading some reviews for her other books they sound to be just as rushed so I will not be continuing with this author

This book has it all. Danger, intrigue, and romance. Scarlett was picked to be the first female in the games. She gets 3 vampires mixed in. They have to survive to the end. They get another on their team, a witch. Scarlett, Drax, Finn, Colt and Max set out to change the world as they currently know it. It's a TBC book.
