My intro to Tolstoy
I hadn't read much Tolstoy before. I enjoy the stories. They are far easier to digest than War and Peace. The man was a fantastic writer and the stories are entertaining and thought-provoking.

Great For Reading Aloud during Covid~
My husband ordered this book and he reads aloud to us several evenings a week during our Happy Hour during Covid 19. We are enjoying all the stories. Each one is rich and has great values and deep meanings. I think this is a ritual we will keep long after. Tolstoy's short stories are so well written and most take only 10-30 minutes to read aloud.

Great book.
I bought this book because I watched the movie made by Brigham Young University, "Winter Thaw". It is the Leo Tolstoy story with the title of "Where Love is, God is." I am excited to read more of his short stories.

Good font, no printing errors, well translated, and good for the soul
Simply superb. Tolstoy is without an equal when it came to short stories depicting a Christian ethic. The edifying reads are accompanied by a very well printed edition, and looks exactly as the picture in the advertisement depicts. There are no slants, disconnected pages, odd printing formats, or any printing errors for that matter and the translation is beautiful.

This book is a keeper!
The short stories all tell a little life lesson in a subtle way. The pages of this book are thick, with a silky feel. While it is not "large print" the print is slightly larger than most books. The ink is a dark black on creamy white pages, very easy to read. I only keep a small library, but this book will be added to my collection.

Ecstatic
Can a story be this great! This leaves me in a state of ecstacy. I could not help but smile wide on these stories. This is much more beautiful than the stories are ever meant to be. This is masterful, wonderful and glorious. All of the stories are similar in nature to the ones my grandmother used to recite to me in my younger days. Infact, i imagine myself reciting these stories to my grandchildren in my older days. The stories are full of moral lessons and wisdom. They provide us an insight into a great deal of deep thinking about topics that have confused humankind for long such as religious mortality, nature of God, existence of God, etc. He has produced a true kind of literary masterpiece. It has got so many generas, the stories as wise, funny, scary and full of life lessons. One of the stories includes an attempt to answer existential questions through being a part of a higher plan. Tolstoy moves through these tough topics such as God, Morality, and existentialism easily by giving examples, metaphors and analogies

Timeless!
One feels the greatness of Tolstoy. The beauty of the writing. If only one could read in Russian!

Not great
The book arrived in excellent condition. However the translation is very childish. I have read other translated works but this one didn't hit the mark.
