When I installed one on a wooden gate I first put Gorilla Tape on the gate, then affixed the alarm to the tape. With windows and doors I first put blue painter's tape on the frame, then affixed the alarm to that tape so I will be able to remove the alarm without difficulty. For a screened window I choose to leave open in summer, I just lean one of the alarms against the screen and remove it when I close the window. I also noticed one of my gate door was open a few times within the last 4 months. I have an alarm for the doors but not the breaking of windows.
