Binding cuts through the text!
Decent book, the authors discuss all the time and effort that went in to writing it. The problem is... the binding sucks! It is hard cover but the binding cuts through the text. Check out thebtwo pictures below. Try to read it.

An Introduction to F1 Technology
Haynes' "Red Bull Racing F1 Car Owners' Workshop Manual" is somewhat misleadingly titled, partly because most readers of the book are not likely to actually own a Red Bull Racing F1 car and partly because there are certain things that a Formula One team just isn't going to reveal about its vehicle. Nonetheless, Steve Rendle's book has some good information and a lot of great pictures that make it worth picking up.The book opens with a hagiographic but mercifully brief history of the Red Bull Racing team through 2014 (the latest edition of the book having been published in 2015). Nearly 100 pagesโreally the bulk of the bookโis then dedicated to profiling just about every conceivable aspect of the car, from the fuel tank to the aerodynamics, the brakes, the power unit, and more. On the one hand, despite some sidebars introducing concepts like the Venturi effect, a good deal of this information is somewhat technical โ not enough that you could use it to build your own F1 car or anything, but enough that as someone with scant mechanical inclination, many of the niceties went over my head. At the same time, though, these pages are absolutely rife with close-up photographs of parts of the car we often don't get a good look at in other contexts, like the brake ducts and suspension components. The rest of the book consists of a series of shorter chapters that discuss the car as it concerns the designer, the race engineer, and the driver. These sections are considerably less in-depth than the car overview, but touch on things like computational fluid dynamics (CFD), wind tunnel testing, and what kind of work the engineers can do on the car during a race. The chapter on the "driver's view" is the shortest, and I wish there were more of it, because whatโs there is fascinating. The chapter includes perspective from Daniel Ricciardo and, less so, Daniil Kvyat (we don't see much of Mark Webber in this book) on what it's like to drive the car, and one sidebar shows a collection of telemetry traces from Ricciardo doing a lap of Monza. The 2015 publication date means the book does discuss the newest power unit specifications, new regulations, and some of the challenges in switching to the 1.6L turbocharged V6 formula. But of course later developments, like the changes going into the 2017 season, are not addressed.Overall, this is an excellent way to gain a more technical perspective on Formula One โ it's ideal for Red Bull fans, of course, but should be interesting to anyone looking to learn about the modern cars. Even if not everything makes perfect sense to you, you should still come away with a fresh or renewed admiration for the knowledge, work, and care that goes into these marvels of motorsport.~

Fantastic book for engineers or race fans
What a great book. Iโm from the aerospace industry and itโs great to read about engineering in a similar field. The author goes into very clear detail, illustrations are excellent, driver insight is good and itโs just plain F1 cool as well. Very high quality information, entertainment and the book construction is table book quality as well. Would be a great book for an aspiring engineer as well.

Excellent book, Just what an owner's manual should be
Excellent book, Just what an owner's manual should be, full of technical detail and explanation, The why as well as the how. Very highly recommended for those readers who are interested in the racing cars rather than the drivers.

Extremely interesting book!
If you are at all interested in state of the art racing mechanics, this book should do the trick. Just goes to demonstrate what multi-million dollar budgets can do for these amazing and very, very fast automobiles!
