UPDATE: 11/24/2025 — It gave me more time with my fake leather couch but eventually it kept peeling and cracking and I had to get rid of it. This leather honey may help save real leather furniture, but it won’t stop the decline of the fake leather once it starts cracking and peeling. I have a real leather couch 20 years old and it’s basically the same. The fake leather lasts a few years and fails. This leather conditioner I don’t think will stop the peels and cracks once they have started. It may slow it down but it won’t stop it. UPDATE: 5/26/2022 -- It has now been a few weeks since I applied the conditioner. The slight sticky feeling that was still on the couch sofa is gone now. It has either soaked in or evaporated, etc. The sofa feels just like when I got it, but now I know it is not dry and going to crack worse. No new cracking has showed up on the sofa couch anywhere. The parts I repaired using the repair kit I bought on Amazon has also held up well. The areas where there were cracks are still sealed, but the repair kit filler has stretched I think. So it appears more visible that I patched them, but not unless you really look at it. However, I do think that the conditioner has helped to stop any new cracks from developing. All in all I wish I had put this on my sofa couch before it started to crack! I do think this would have prevented any cracks from forming. I may have put too much on when I put it on, but after running the fans on it and wiping it down many times and now a few weeks later, the couch looks great and has no sticky feeling to it at all anymore. I know this may not be ideal to have a couch such you can not sit on it for a while, but what I did was put a huge blanket over it until it was fully dried. That allowed us to use it without any problems and if we had not treated the sofa, I am sure by now there would be many more cracks in the sofa. -- The first photo showing the entire sofa is from about a month ago when I bought a used faux leather sofa couch. About a month later the right side top head rest began to crack. I am guessing the couch is older than I thought and it was dry and the oils from hair against it after sitting and using the couch a few times for a few hours watching TV began to break down the sofa leather. I first used the Honey Cleaner on it, but it did not do much. I then used this Honey Leather Conditioner, but it soaked into the leather fast. It was hard to spread, I eventually put on disposable plastic gloves and rubbed the leather honey all over the couch surfaces that are used. I was having trouble getting it to spread, so likely used more than you are supposed to, but I did not want the cracking to spread and ruin the couch. The couch I had before this had this kind of cracking spread all over it and I had to pay to have it taken to the trash. You can see the cracks in the leather head rest of the couch in the 2nd photo. Those cracks did not come out from the honey leather conditioner. What I did to get the cracks fixed was use the COCONIX Brown Leather and Vinyl Repair Kit here on Amazon, but after I used the Honey Leather conditioner on it all to restore the health of the faux leather. I had to wipe down the couch a few times the first 24 hours. First I used paper towels and tossed them. Then a old towel and then a wet old towel and wiped more off. Then I ran a big fan against the couch 24/7 for about 4 days and then wiped it down again with a towel. I put old knit blankets over the couch for a week or so until the honey leather had completely soaked in. Even still if I rub my fingers on the couch they will pick up some of the substance, as my fingers I have not rubbed against it will be smooth, and the ones I do rub against it are a little sticky. The stickiness is getting less and less and I am sure in a few weeks it will be back to how it was. It is not a very noticeable stickiness now. After this I think I may just wiped it down with the Honey leather cleaner every few months. I do think I needed to use this honey leather conditioner though to save the leather, as it was cracking pretty bad in just a month of having it after I bought it used and it had no cracks when I bought it used. All in all I am happy with this. I likely used way more than is recommended. If you are wondering how this works on fake leather couches, it does seem to work, but does not absorb I think as fast as it does in real leather. It may be that my fake leather couch has been treated as well, which is why it did not soak in as fast.

Very cool product. Revived my ancient leather chair. The liquid is very thick so you know it will do the job of conditioning worn leather. Overnight the leather regained it’s color and suppleness.

I tried this leather conditioner and had mixed results. What I liked: • Good conditioning: It does help soften and condition the leather • Quality product: You can tell it’s made for long-term leather care Things to consider: • Very sticky texture: It’s thicker than expected and can be difficult to spread evenly • Takes more effort to apply: Requires extra time and buffing to avoid a tacky finish • A little goes a long way, but it’s easy to use too much Overall: This product does condition leather, but the sticky consistency makes it harder to work with compared to others I’ve used. If you don’t mind putting in a little extra effort, it gets the job done—but it may not be the easiest option out there.

10 stars, 20 stars... this stuff is great. We can't leave photos any more, or I'd show you what an amazing difference this stuff makes. Whoever wrote (I think I read it in the reviews on the smaller size bottle) that you should not use this on saddles - I couldn't disagree more. Last week I purchased a gorgeous used saddle made by Australian Stockmans Saddlery co. in Toowoomba, Australia. The saddle retails for about $3200 new, but this was an older model - I'd guess maybe 7 or 8 years old, and I got it off of Craigslist for a quarter of the new price. The saddle was in perfect shape, but the leather was scuffed and nicked... and worse, it had been coated heavily with an orange/brown shoe type polish. When I got the saddle home, I started to work on it. First, I washed it over and over again to remove the old ugly polish. It took hours and stained my feet orange from the water run off. Then I took the leather honey and coated the entire saddle. I used my hands, pouring palmfuls and smearing it over the leather, working it in as I went. I know the bottle says sparingly, but I coated this saddle heavily. And I know it says to wait 2 to 24 hours to wipe it down, but this saddle drank up every bit within a half hour. The leather surface was completely dry... and it was not the least bit sticky. I do want to note that the leather on the seat of the saddle was finished a bit differently when it was made than the rest of the saddle - it was much less porous. It did not absorb the Leather Honey nearly as quickly - maybe an hour for the first coat. Anyway, then I coated the whole saddle again, just as heavily as the first coat. An hour later, the second coat was gone and the saddle was dry. AND AMAZING!! The orange-brown was gone and now the original brown-mahogany was shining through in a beautiful aged leather look, with small wrinkles and dark marbling throughout. OMGosh, it was stunning. I put 4 more coats on over 2 days before the leather wasn't thirsty any more. With each coat the color and texture just kept getting better. I really wish I could post a picture. The saddle is heavenly, a work of art. And Leather Honey gets a big hunk of the credit. Next, I hauled the jug of Leather Honey out to my hubbies Ford F350, King Ranch version... with King Ranch leather seats. The seats are gorgeous, but the leather has faded a bit in the hot Georgia sun. I did one seat in back. I really, really wish I could post a picture- the results are so beautiful and dramatic. Things to note here... seats have parts that are sat on regularly and change the surface of the leather. The portions of the seat that were sat on the most sucked in greater amounts of Leather Honey. The upper side parts of the seat had much more of the original finish to the leather and did not absorb near as much and since they didn't absorb as much, they looked lighter. I took my hand and really worked these areas, and as the other more worn areas dried, the color evened out more. The seat is... gosh, hard to find the words to describe the difference. And if you wait for Leather Honey to dry completely, it's not sticky at all. Maybe patent leather type of finished leather may not absorb as well but thick, thirsty saddle leather and truck seat leather eats this stuff up. I'm out here to order another gallon. It's worth it. I don't work for Leather Honey, I'm a data security auditor. I just love a product that exceeds my expectation.

I have used this on every leather item I own. A little goes a long way. No smell, and it leaves your leather looking beautiful! The price is great too.

I got this stuff for my new Solovair 20-eye boots. It did a great job and really softened up the leather for wear. You should always treat your new boots before wear, it helps to protect them against the elements and makes them a lot easier to break-in comfortably. I applied it with a brush, let it soak in overnight, and wiped off the residue the next day. I applied too much this first time around, and I only used about two tablespoons total, so this stuff goes a long, long way. I almost bought a larger bottle, but this small one will last me a very long time. When I run out, I will most certainly buy again. Definitely recommended. UPDATE: After seeing what a great job Leather Honey did on my new Solovairs, I decided to try it out on my old, beaten up Dan Post boots. I was given the boots in a heavily used condition two years ago, and I had not applied any treatment or care whatsoever in the entire time I have owned them - and I don't believe the previous owner did, either, by the looks of them. So, needless to say, they needed some TLC pretty badly. Once again, Leather Honey did the job and did it very well! My Dan Post boots went from looking beaten and worn to looking sharp and properly cared for. Mind you, they don't look brand new by any means, but they certainly do not look old or beaten any longer - maybe only a year old, a far cry from their previous state. I applied the treatment in a thin, evenly spread layer using my hands, and it was all soaked in two to three hours later. Nothing to wipe away; that leather was thirsty! Anyway, just thought I should give an update to let everyone know that this stuff will revive your old, neglected, 'too beaten to wear out' leather, as well as help to soften up and condition your brand new items. And, for anyone who is curious, my Dan Post boots are black cowhide, not fancy reptile or anything. There was absolutely no color loss, and the wrinkles, slight cracks, etc. were very much smoothed over and some even disappeared with the treatment. I noticed one person commenting about how there was color loss when s/he applied Leather Honey. The only way I can see this occurring is if the leather has been cheaply dyed, and the color is merely a top-coat that did not soak in or bond with the leather itself. If you're unsure, always apply it to a discreet area (like the tongue of your boot, for example) before treating the entire item. If you have color loss, or are concerned with that possibility, then buy some cream polish to apply after the Leather Honey treatment. This is a superb idea regardless, as it protects your boots from the elements. I purchased a jar of Meltonian Shoe and Boot Cream with my Leather Honey for that reason. Cream polish is much better for your shoes than wax, and also conditions them while wax is more of a shiny top-coat sort of thing. If you want your boots to last, folks, you need to not only condition, but also polish them regularly. It sounds like a hassle but it does not take but ten minutes at most (for my huge 20-eye boots, even) and will add many years to the life of your boots. It also revitalizes the color of your boots, and helps water-resistance. Conditioning and polishing should be done when you first buy your new boots, right after they have experienced weather (such as rain or snow), and on a regular basis - I treat my boots once a week because I wear them every day, but if you wear yours less often, once a month should be enough; though, there is no such thing as conditioning & polishing your boots too often. Protect your investment, and take care of your boots!

Great for high end leather furniture. Easy application and a small amount goes a long ways.

I've been using this on my leather sofa for 3 years now. It's a great product. Please don't follow the leather honey instructions. It is almost impossible to apply this product using a cloth(even the cloth they include in the set) as it performs miserably. The leather honey is so thick, the cloth doesn't wipe smoothly over the leather and there is a lot of drag when applying it. I recommend you put the leather honey in a warm water bath to loosen it up, put on a pair of disposable gloves, and rub it over the leather with your hands. It will save you a lot of frustration and sweat, and you will get better coverage using your hands. Wiping off the excess with a cloth works just fine. Great product, poor application advice.
