Overweight & Bad left hip & Bad right Knee and works perfectly
Enough reviews are already made for me not to just regurgitate the accolades. I am writing this review specifically if you are heavy, have hip issues and or knee issues. I have all the above. I bought the bench originally for tub use as I did not think anything would work in my shower. It is a medium shower and I am a large person. The toilet is very close to the shower and nothing I could find would work. This chair does. I do not use the back as it VERY EASILY is removable. I have hip and knee issues so a regular bench or chair was quite difficult to use. This chair , for me, is worth the price. That said.. the price is a little steep but I would actually have to buy it even if it were more expensive as there is , for me, nothing else that will work. I am a little over 300 pounds and I feel very secure on the bench, I only can rotate it partially due to the very cramped quarters. I still feel very safe in the bench and the side arms give enough safety to easily rotate and then slide into the shower. Hope this helps. Because of my left hip and right knee I cannot rotate and step over the shower and this chair makes it a breeze. My weight feels very securely supported ( 320 ) so I am very pleased. On another note.. the manufacturer sends many follow up emails offering assistance etc. I did not need any. I was able to easily assemble the chair, while in a wheel chair, unassisted and move it to the shower unassisted and test it. I would suggest getting a special shower curtain to help with containing the water. I did not have the patience to wait so I just modified my shower curtain till I could purchase a specialty one. Amazon does sell them for use with transfer bench. Hope this helps.. Cheers update.. end of first week. Excellent. very stable. I would buy again for sure. Taking a shower was very sketchy trying to get in and out in such a small location. The chair made all the difference for me. I trust it totally now.

Highly recommend the Platinum Health Carousel Sliding Shower Chair PHB3300!
Highly recommend the Platinum Health Carousel Sliding Shower Chair PHB3300! This is an excellent shower bench, worth every penny! Every homecare nurse and physical therapist has asked where to get one, and they’re sharing the information with their co-workers and associates. Easy to assemble, no tools required! Light weight, yet very sturdy, it has many indispensable features that previous shower chairs just did not have: 1. A padded, waterproof seat that rotates in any direction! The seat locks into place every 90 degrees. So it can be used in any bath to face the faucets and drain. 2. By pushing a button that unlocks the chair, the seat slides along the bench rails, then locks into position, in and out if the bathtub. 3. The chair has flip up locking arms for easy transfer from a wheel chair if required. It also has a seat belt. 4. The legs are adjustable at 1/2” increments, for user height (seat max height 23”), and to clear tub top edge to slide over (18”). This also allows the bench to be leveled between the legs inside the tub and the legs outside on the floor. 5. There are rubber feet on the bottom of each leg that are angled, so they can be rotated to adjust to the contours of the tub or the flat floor. We only have one small bathroom, a tub with sliding glass doors, and a sink right next to the tub. We were looking into remodeling our bathroom, planning to have the tub removed and converted into a walk in shower. But that really wasn’t feasible on our budget, and there wasn’t enough time before scheduled hip replacement surgery. The Platinum Health Carousel Sliding Shower Chair PHB3300 solved all our problems! We paid about $298, about twice what we paid for previous shower chairs that proved useless (because they were too big, too heavy, and uncomfortable to use). We can safely and easily use this shower chair in our tiny bathroom without a major remodel! To set it up, we removed our sliding shower doors, purchased an inexpensive shower curtain tension rod and a clear plastic shower curtain. We made two small cuts up from the bottom of the shower curtain that match the distance between the outside legs, and the height of the bench rails, so the shower curtain bottom can be tucked inside the tub to minimize water on the floor. We also use a bathmat under the outside legs to avoid a dangerous, slippery, wet floor. We slide the chair out of the tub into the locked position. Rotate the seat into the locked position facing out of the bathtub. Transfer from the walker to the seat by reaching back for the chair arms, carefully lowering down into the seat, and attach the seat belt. Then push down the red lever to rotate the seat 90 degrees, lifting one leg over tub edge. Push grey button to begin sliding the chair into tub, lifting the other leg into tub. Once the seat locks into position, you are ready for a safe shower! Simply reverse the process when you’re done. And light enough to easily remove for other bathers. Very happy with our purchase! We expect to get many years of excellence from this Platinum Health Carousel Sliding Shower Chair PHB3300

Absolute game-changer for the mobility-impaired!!
I had a stroke a couple years ago, and have very limited use of my left side at the moment. Walking, standing for long periods, and getting onto my transfer bench in the tub has certainly been a major challenge, and cannot always be done with the utmost safety. Amazon recommended this item for me several months ago (hey, give credit where credit is due, right?), and after checking it out I decided to go for it. And oh my gosh, it is unbelievable how easy this makes the transfer process. This bench slides from side to side, and pivots 90 degrees. It can slide while pivoting and vice versa. So, I start out with the bench slid all the way out of the tub, pivoted 180 degrees away from the tub so I can just sit in it once I enter the bathroom and make my turn. From there, I can pivot the seat clockwise, sliding the bench a little bit in toward the tub at the same time so my legs can clear the toilet. The seat clicks into place facing the showerhead side of the tub, but still slid outside the tub. I put my right leg over the tub edge and into the tub, get some help to put my left leg in as I slide further into the tub, and then "click!" it locks into place. I then pivot a little bit more to get some extra room, and I'm ready to get clean. It literally takes less than 5 minutes, when it used to take about 15 and be a lot less safe. The bench is extremely well-made and sturdy, and all the sliding and locking mechanisms have worked flawlessly to date. You might want to cut off the seatbelt if you don't use it, because otherwise it gets in the way. It's made of a kind of squishy, comfortable, firm foam. If you can't tell, I can't speak more highly of this product. It's worth every penny, and if it broke today I'd order another one tomorrow. Vastly increases quality of life, in that it makes showering a ton easier. Most highly recommended!

Why didn't I hear of these swivel and slide bathseats earlier
My wife has been using a hospital type shower chair and hated the fact that it was so hard and I couldn't get it level for her. I heard about these on Reddit and decided to check it out. Found this one and the reviews looked good so decided to try it. It was easy to put together and light enough for a regular person to lift in place. I leveled it and then my wife tried it. What a huge change. It worked perfectly and she loved it. We have a small bathroom with very little room between the toilet and shower but this fit perfectly. We both loved the swivel seat and now no longer has to scoot herself over and it easily slides. We will see how it stands up to time but right now, 5 stars easily. Wish I had of these sooner.

Cannot wash your bum, etc. while seated on this!
The left side of my body is paralyzed (arm and leg!) by a stroke. This sliding swiveling chair is super easy to use. Slides smoothly but take notice: the tab and small lever you need to press to make it move is on the right side of the seat so if your right side isn't functional, you'll have difficulty using this. Also, it is very comfortable (I also have a broken, dislocated tailbone which is excruciating about 100% of the time, but this seat doesn't hurt me at all and is comfortable enough for me to be seated for the time it takes to shower and wash my hair. I don't use the arm rests, but they are comfortable, too, as is the back rest) but the seat is solid - there is no cut out so good luck washing your "nether regions" - impissible to do if you can't slide yourself forward or lift up to get your washcloth, etc into the area. Otherwise would have given a resounding five stars! I have to bring a wet washcloth back to bed with me after my shower so once I'm laying down, I can try to clean the only area that didn't get washed in the shower! That makes me upset because there are confortable, padded seats with cut outs so you can reach the area with a sponge on a long stick or the hand-held shower spray to get clean. I have used this chair several times now and it's so easy to slide into place and so comfortableso that I won't even consider returning it for one that has the cut out opening, but if they made a swiveling sliding seat with the cut out, this would ve absolutely perfect! I recommend this to everyone who needs a transfer chair. Also it requires very little exertion to get it to slide/swivel so someone without much strength could use this easily and it's easy to control, it stops sliding as soon ax you stop pressing the lever on the side, which is easy to find and requires very little pressure. They've thought of almost everything! It's stable and sturdy enough so I don't fear it tipping over when I'm only gripping the right side as I lower myself onto it. You'll probably want to place washcloths on the seat to make it easier yo get up after your shower - wet skin clungs/sticks to vinyl, etc. surfaces. But that's just personal preference. You won't be sorry you spent tge money for this if you're disabled or elderly or otherwise need help with transferring...

Absolute lifesaver!
This shower chair has been a life saver after my husband's surgery. Although it is bulky, I am able to fit it into our small bathroom. I am a shorter person, but able to carry it around without any issue. The assembly was relatively easy. Well made. Seat is comfortable. It is a little tough to slide the seat across when someone is seated in it, but that is a minor issue for us. The surface is easy to clean. Highly recommend!

Finally, A shower bench worth the money!!
I have been paralyzed from the waist down for 7 years now. Over those 7 years I have purchased 6 shower benches prior to this bench. EVERY one of those benches has been lucky to last me 1 year before having to be thrown out! I have had the ones with cushions and ones with fiberglass seat, and NONE of them has made it a year before they were rusted, cushions split, nasty, and not worth saving. Then I found this shower bench! I was hesitant to spend $300 on a shower bench until my wife reminded me that every other bench I had costed me between 80 and 100 dollars, and they didn't swivel or slide. So I took the plunge and spent the money, and let me say that I am SO GLAD I DID!! This bench is everything that all of my other benches WERE NOT! The rails are REAL aluminum instead of the garbage aluminum plated metal that all of the old benches were made out of! The cushions are solid pieces of heavy duty waterproof foam material instead of the cheap and thin vinyl covered foam/wood cushions which always split after 3-6 months on the other shower benches. I can tell these cushions will last a long time. Even the rubber rail bushings and feet are REAL rubber instead of the cheap grey "rubber" feet used on all the other benches. Basically, I can tell this shower bench was constructed right, with quality materials and was properly engineered to provide a quality product that will last and perform for years. I only wish I had bought this shower bench 7 years ago!! The shower bench comes in a box which almost looks too small to contain the correct product. But I can assure you it does contain the correct shower bench. I was able to put the bench together by myself, from my wheelchair, in about 15 minutes. If you have a helper, or an able bodied person to put it together, you could put it together even quicker. The swivel and slide functions work perfectly, even better than I had expected! I am truly amazed at how well this product looks and functions! When I think back on all of the other shower benches I have wasted good money on, the $300 price tag for this chair is more than reasonable. Especially considering that this chair also swivels and slides! And finally, the people at Platinum Health are extremely courteous and quick to reply, should you need to contact them! When I ordered this product I was without any shower bench, because my previous one had broken in our move, so I was unable to shower at all. I contacted the seller, explaining that I was without a bench, and asked if there was any way they could expedite my order and they responded within a few hours and tried their best to help out. It turns out that they had a warehouse about an hour from where I live, but unfortunately I waited too long to contact them or they could have had it shipped from that warehouse. Even with it shipping from a few states away, it arrived 3-4 days earlier than I had expected! They have even emailed me twice after I received the bench, to ask how my experience has been and if I have any questions or concerns! To sum it up, if you are considering purchasing this product, GO FOR IT! You won't be disappointed! And NO, I DID NOT RECEIVE THIS PRODUCT FOR FREE OR AT A DISCOUNT. I purchased it for full price and had no other incentive, other than necessity, to do so.

Essential equipment for handicapped bathing
The aluminum frame seems strong and certainly won't rust. The seat and back rest is a firm material that repels water and cleans up easily. Be aware that deep soaker type bathtubs will require legs extensions. I made my own from tubing I happened to have on hand. It work great to help my wife who has MS into and out of the shower. I'd recommend it.
