My daughters love this. I bought them a basic plastic one which they thought was great as they had been using a cloth and a can of beans before but it soon became obvious that there must be a better way than having to load books on top of the press. This looked ideal so I bought them one each. They use them all the time and say that this takes much more liquid out in around a third of the time than the plastic one.

I've tried to cook tofu before and always felt rather underwhelmed until ......I learned you really need to press the water out.At first I used a dangerously precarious balancing act of massive chopping boards and a large, stone pestle and mortar. I wondered if there was another way and a Google search and Amazon took me here.It really squeezes the water out well so I'm left with a much more useful product to cube, toss in cornflour, powdered garlic and onion and lightly fried. I made a banging sweet and sour with itA must have.

It's really good quality and really drains tofu very well. The pack that it comes in with the tote bag and the cheese bag is also very nice. Unfortunately it is so high quality that it's not worth washing it while it is still assembled for fear of causing the nuts and bolts to rust. So one must assemble and disassemble the press for every use.

Works okay for large Tofoo Tofu blocks from grocery stores in Ireland (Tesco and Dunnes Stores) but not the small tofu blocks - there are no 'sides' on this press to hold the block in place and the small tofu block just disintegrates into crumbs with pressure. I don't like cleaning this press; the tofu is squeezed into the slots and has to be pushed out manually - it feels awkward to clean as I don't take it apart, and getting the cleaning brush in between the top and bottom can be cramped for me as I use a detergent filled scrubby brush with a long handle. My daughter uses it and says it's okay, but I just don't like cleaning it!

I followed the instructions closely , but the base tray cracked all the way through after first use.

Arrived as advertised and well packaged. Included with the press was a QR code for a free PDF book, which has some excellent recipes, but also how to make your own tofu. Can't wait to give it a go
