I’ve been using this cooling pad for a few months now and it continues to do its job keeping my laptop cool. I usually have it on the high fan speed setting because I’m playing games and my laptop can get hot if I don’t, it’s a little loud but not too bad. Quieter than the fan in my daughter’s room. When on my laptop I’m usually sitting on the couch, or in bed, and I like using a mouse, so my only wish is that it had a little mousepad on the side. I currently sit it on top of a “lap tray” and it doesn’t sit well on that (it hangs off the back a bit) and it’s a pain dealing with two things under my laptop just so I can use my mouse. The “legs” are useless for my setup, but I guess they would be nice to have if you sit at a desk or table. I don’t plug the USB power port into my laptop because I don’t want it getting any hotter, but the cord is long enough to easily reach the multiport adapter I have nearby which is nice. Overall, it’s a good buy for the price and works as intended.

This does a great job cooling the laptop. It is a little loud but not awful. It's actually cool to the touch and does a great job cooling the laptop. ****IMPORTANT NOTE**** Asurion is a scam. In my experience, If you ever have to file a claim they will make the process as difficult as possible. When you sign in to the app to file a claim you have to sign in three separate times. The form they want you to fill out does not self-populate your name, address, phone # etc. You’ll then need to enter various other information, and they want a pic of both the front and back of your driver’s license (remember, you logged in with a UN and PW). Once you upload all of this, they tell you it will take 24 business hours to review. First, they reject the form stating you must print and sign the form even though it says you can sign electronically. If you call their number, they will place your call on hold for a while and initially an automated message will attempt to tie up your call having you answer various questions. Eventually someone in a foreign country will answer your call. The initial person will try to sell you additional services and after you say no a couple times, they will transfer you to someone else. You guessed it, you will have to be on hold again. You will get transferred and placed on hold several more times and they will find a way to deny your claim. What is especially frustrating is you have followed all their directions along the way. They can (and will) raise service fees without any notice. In the end, you will not save any money and have spent far too much time submitting forms and talking to people that lie and misdirect you every step of the way. The company’s employees are dishonest and have no problem lying to you. You can give it a try if you want but you have been warned. Instead of paying their monthly fee dump the money in a savings account. Odds are you’ll be able to buy a new product that’s updated, and you will receive it in a couple of days instead of weeks later.

Update 10/08/24: Support reached out to me and sent me some replacement fans, and an extra filter kit. the Support team was awesome, I replaced the fans myself, and it was a straight forward and EASY process. Just need a number 2 Phillips screwdriver, and some time. The fans are back to their original noise level (little whiney on higher speeds) but its to be expected with the fan design. Airflow is excellent. I will further update in coming months to confirm whether or not the original fans in my unit were just lemons, or if this is gonna be a common issue with this particular unit. Original review below for historic reasons: Awesome little laptop chiller, it works well with my asus G18 despite it being slightly larger than the "supported size". The fans move a TON of air, even with the filters, though the filters don't catch the smaller finer particles, I added a layer of coffee filter to trap the finer particles. The filters ARE washable and the unit comes with deflectors to keep most of the heat from recycling back into the fans on laptops that exhaust out the rear. It does not include an extra set or 2 of filters, I wish It did so I could wash and swap while filters are drying. The biggest draw backs of this unit, is the fan noise, it wasn't too bad at first, a slight whine on the lower settings, a fair bit louder at higher speeds. It was tolerable at first, but after several months, theyre... loud... about as loud as a mid2000s dell server at Idle. They weren't as loud as when the unit was new. I hope they upgrade the design over time and improve on the fan noise issue. The other drawback is the pass-through usb port. It's usb 2, so don't plan on using any fancy super speed devices with it because they won't be able to take advantage of the USB 3.X speeds.

Likes: - RGB lights can be adjusted to different modes such as stationary in one color, switch to different colors and so on. You can also just turn them off. - The cooling system is very good. There is three types of cooling (1, 2, and 3) in which each can be used for different scenarios: 1 for casual browsing, 2 for streaming and 3 for intense gaming. 1 is silent cooling while 3 is louder, but more efficient. - Change the angle, making it raise or lower. You can also have it flat on your desk. It has safety baffles, which are very good quality (metal) and will keep your laptop secure. - There is an extra USB outlet in which makes it excellent for connecting any additional usb components. (note: this is mostly for power out such as charging a phone or supplying power to a usb lamp. I still haven't figured if it can be used to connect usb drives in the computer. Dislike: - The height of the safety baffles is not ideal for thick laptops, but they still get the job on. - A little too bulky, but it is expected if we want an efficient cooling system. - Level 3 is loud, but once again, its expected. Overall I have been using it for a week and I love it. I did had to ask for a replacement because the first shipment didn't include its original box and baffles+usb wires, but that is just shipment errors and not because the product is bad. I did get a all my items in the replacement order and the company even offers a credit to their site by registering the product. I really love the RGB lightning effects, they don't look cheap at all and really makes the device look fancy. The cooling system is the best their is. They even added attachments for laptops that have the exhaust of air on the backside, something that a lot of other cooling pads don't offer but this one does! Its a very good product and sturdy. (It may be soon to say if it will last, but I will set a mark on my calendar to update this review to give updates in a one year use.) As of now, I recommend this product if you are looking for something that looks nice and also protects your laptop from overheating.

tl;dr - It works better than all the other crap. Can be noisy, but actually reduces the laptop temp. Any company making laptop accessories should be stealing most of the engineering ideas from this. I've tried about a dozen laptop cooling products over the last decade. After a few months with this, I'm convinced this is the most effective design to actually cool a laptop. It's not perfect, but it's a lot better than every other similar product. If I were rating this only on its merits, it doesn't deserve five stars. But compare it to similar products and this leads by miles. This design should be standard standard. I think this costs way more than it should, but I would pay more for a nearly identical design with a few fixes. Pros: Comfortable on my lap - heat is sucked out and spit out the back side. My laptop already has rear air intake, but they even included some optional flaps that prevent cross flow. Made mostly of some durable-feeling plastic. Base fits large laptops (like my 17.3' screen) easily. The clips to hold laptop in place are brilliant, simple and effective. Easy to turn on/off, increase fan speed. Colored lights are fine, easy to change color or turn off. Cons: May not work for all laptops depending on vent and exhaust locations. The fans are not quiet, but less noisy than a lot of other options you've probably tried if you're still reading this, and you're probably wearing headphones if your computer actually needs the cooling.

I have an older MSI laptop that I'm using this for. It's working well as this MSI, (like most MSI laptops), have a nasty habit of getting extremely hot and hurting performance. I've already replaced both the cpu and gou fans on this laptop and I wanted to find something that would aid it. There's a lot of laptop base fans out there. Why I settled on trying this variant was it's sturdiness appearance and silicone seals that can be exchanged if need be. Personally I'm not a fan of rgb, don't care for it and when I turn it off on, it tends to turn right back on. Next I can't get it to stay on one specific color just wants to remain on and change as it pleases. It's been quite reliable though keeping my laptops cool. I have another older alienware mx14r2 that I use for testing software. I just swap the silicone seal as that laptop is smaller and again works like a charm for it. Do I recommend this? Look if your into rgb, would like to keep resource heavy laptops cool, can change the angle of height for better posture, and have control on variant speeds of the fan, then yes! It's nice also that it has filters for the inlet of air and directional exhaust blades to help vent out the hot air! Yet when traveling be mindful that the blades are attached by adhesive tape so accommodate accordingly

This cooler performs well, and AFMAT support is stellar. I love the design and the washable dust filters, and I'd recommend this product to others. I initially had an issue with the fans rattling, but AFMAT support made sure the fans were replaced with a newer revision that had better bearings. See the end of this review for highlights of the story. tl;dr is that AFMAT support is amazing, and it was their ability to satisfactorily, easily, and quickly resolve the issue that makes me comfortable recommending this cooler. I prefer the rear air intake over a bottom air intake, and the washable dust filters are a must-have (remove, rinse, shake out, reinstall). On low fan settings, the fans are pretty quiet, but on the higher/highest fan setting you'll definitely hear the fans blowing. I think it's well within tolerance, and I'd say it's within expectations of a pair of fans given the volume of air being moved on the higher speed settings. I found that the rubber pads on the adjustable "hooks" that protect the laptop from damage while the hooks hold the front of the laptop in place started to slide off, but a touch of Gorilla superglue allowed me to get those pads held in place without issue. I do have an issue with the rubber feet on the bottom of the cooler falling out. I'd superglue them in, too, except that I'm missing two and need to contact support to buy some extras. At first I thought that the plastic frame of the cooler would be cheap and easily breakable, but after months of use I find that it serves me just as well as the heavier, metal frame from the cooler that this one replaced. The light-weight material makes this cooler easy to hold/move/carry, and the design and airflow are effective in keeping the laptop cool. I have zero need for RGB lighting on my computing equipment, but since everything seems to have it these days, I'll mention that the light color selection is adequate. You can select from pink, green, blue, and "cycle" (where it smoothly cycles through all colors in the palette). If I could make improvements, I'd replace the solid pink with solid red and then increase the selection to the full ROYGBIV palette instead of just the three solid pink (or red), green, and blue colors. The issue that support helped me resolve was that within a month after purchase, one of the fans started rattling loudly. Support sent me a replacement cooler, and within a week one of those fans started rattling. After contacting support again, they reached out to the fan manufacturer and had them drop-ship to me two new fans with improved bearings. The only thing that looked different from the original fans was a "v2" printed on the label--I assume that to mean hardware revision 2. The fans have been running on full speed for months while my laptop does a bunch of encoding and the new fans are working splendidly. I highly applaud AFMAT for how well they took care of me, and I'm willing to try other AFMAT products or buy another one of these coolers in the future if the need arises. AFMAT obviously wants happy customers and will do whatever is necessary to stand behind their products and resolve any issues if they arise.

The sealing gasket assures a good seal on the bottom of the laptop. This is a bit larger than what my laptop requires but because of the gasket, it does seal very well. It is nice that the devices powered by a USB connection and not a 110 wall plug. Yes it does use one USB plug but gives you an additional port on the fan base so there is no loss of USB ports. The constant on speed works well for most of the time but there are three additional speeds if faster speeds are needed. The changing lights are a nice addition with the option to turn them off if needed. When the laptop is on but in standby mode, it can be completely turned off which is a nice option as well. I am having issues with my laptop fan not functioning correctly and this base has alleviated the need for expensive hardware and out of warranty repairs. It is allowed my older laptop to function 100% fine as is without any worry of it overheating and damaging it. All combined, this is a great option and why I chose this product over others. A tad bit more expensive but for all the options above, this is the best that I have found and I'm very happy with it.

Ya había comprado varias bases pero está si cumplió con las espectativas y de 100c° pude bajar la temperatura hasta 80 más -menos cuando estoy jugando, si no la uso para jugar puede bajar hasta 40c°, respecto al ruido la verdad creo que no es tanto como para molestarse yo estoy satisfecho con mantener la computadora fresca para estar jugando. Si hay algo que mejorar creo que sería el cable USB que tiene creo que podrían cambiarlo por algo mejor ya que tuve que remplazarlo por qué falseaba , ya son detalles mínimos pero estoy bien con eso. La velocidad que marca en la caja en realidad es de 4300 rpm +- . Adicional Viene con unos alerones para que no se mezcle el aire fresco y un empaque de repuesto para cambiarlo a futuro. Ya tengo varios días usándola y creo que es un buen producto pero desconozco el tiempo de vida espero que no se dañe pronto.

En verdad es buen producto si lo usas en una laptop gamer ya que estás laptop hacen ruido con sus ventiladores no se nota mucho el del ventilador y baja muy bien la temp. En mi caso fue de 10a 15 grados ya que ayuda mucho al tipo de ventilación de este tipo de computadoras. Vale la pena el precio.
