Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Styling Cream - Adds Shine & Smooths

This is a great product if you need a leave-in conditioner. I do and have been using it for a few years based on my stylist's recommendation. She is very particular about which products she carries and has carried Oribe products for a few years now. (She and her salon was listed on InStyle's "little black book" top 10 salons in the country.) It leaves your hair shiny, soft, treats some flyaway hairs, and has a nice scent. It doesn't take a lot to cover the whole head and, unlike some other brands, doesn't clump in the hair or add noticeable weight to it. My hair is medium length, past the shoulders, thick, naturally curly and coarse without products. I have 2 types of hair on my head (enough for 2 people!). The top layers are more coarse and curly and the hair that is on the bottom half of my head is more smooth and wavy. The creme works for both hair types. This leave in conditioner helps to give my hair some shine and protect the ends. I use it in addition to a few other Oribe products including their shampoo, conditioner mix the Supershine Moisturizing Creme with a few drops of the Oribe Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil. (I put in half the amount of oil vs. creme and mix in my palm.) After towel drying my hair very gently and mixing the product in my palm and sharing with my fingertips, I work the product through the top layers and run my fingers down the length of it. I have to do this a second time to get all of my hair and lean over so I have all of my hair in my face to use both hands and roll it onto the ends thoroughly. After that, I run my fingers through my hair to make sure it is spread, or you can use a comb, but I recommend one of those extra large combs with the teeth far apart and only if you do it very gently so you don't tug/pull out extra hair. Your hair is very vulnerable when wet and can break off more easily. I was told to treat it like silk when wet to not damage or pull/tug out more hair than what naturally will fall out. After applying the product you can style your hair as usual. I twist my hair in a clip and let it dry naturally for curls or dry it gently and flat iron it if I want it straight. (Note the only time I personally flat iron it is when I have had a keratin treatment/brazillian blowout, which basically laminates the hair shaft, filling it porous areas if it is coarse, and makes it soft and shiny. That treatment helps protect it from heat damage and looks even better when flat ironed or curled with no fly-away issues.) I highly recommend this if you need a leave in conditioner. It's suitable for women or men!

Helps with detangling, reduces frizz, and gives that glossy, healthy finish — even when my hair was long and damaged, this worked. Now that it’s shorter and recovering, I still won’t go without it. Pro tip: If you get caught in rain or humidity midday, this helps reset the hair — then follow up with a touch of oil on the ends to smooth and rehydrate. It brings your style back to life. Also, don’t be afraid of silicones. If your hair is damaged, you need them — they protect the cuticle, prevent splits from moving up, and stop breakage. A must for my thick, fine, curly aging hair! Living in coastal south Texas, my hair can get pretty unmanageable and crazy. For the first ten years of living here, I’ve worn my hair in a messy bun out of necessity. My hair wouldn’t do anything in this intense humidity. My hairdresser got me started on this Oribe product and now I won’t go without it. Yes it is pricey, but it is so worth it. It makes my unmanageable hair manageable for the first time in years!! I am finally able to straighten my hair and it lasts for days. It gives my hair body without weighing it down or feeling heavy. I put it on my hair while it is freshly washed. I also use it on dry hair if my hair starts feeling a little crazy. Great scent, wonderful product!!

good leave in creme but toooo expensive

HAIR BACKGROUND/DEMOGRAPHICS: 1. 32F, Caucasian 2. Elbow-length, fine, naturally wavy hair 3. Professionally bleached/dyed for the past 10 years 4. Gluten allergy 5. I live in a climate that experiences all four seasons No, that title is not an exaggeration. For context, I have a severe gluten allergy that necessitates an epipen, and my due diligence needs to extend to the products I use on my skin as well. When I say that my hair is normally difficult to style, I’m talking that I could spray a whole can of hairspray on my curls, not brush them for three hours, and they would still fall out completely. I have been so frustrated from trying product after product, both drugstore and salon quality, only to be disappointed by them time after time. It was suggested to me on a hair forum that I try Oribe products because they’re high quality and gluten free, but the price tags were definitely a shock. But, after being recommended the brand over and over, I decided to take the plunge and buy the smaller sizes, just in case I hated them. (I also purchased the gold lust shampoo and conditioner). First of all, this smells SO GOOD. Like that “Old money, I just smell really good but not like I’m actually trying” smell. Next, you really don’t need a lot of it. I used a dime sized amount for my hair and started on the ends, using just what was left on my hands for the top of my head, and that was the perfect amount. I also applied it when my hair was lightly towel dried, and let it sit for about ten minutes before applying heat. I used a combination of a blow dryer and a 2-in-1 blow dry styler brush to style my hair, and the results were nothing less than incredible! I styled in smaller manageable sections, and my hair turned out SO smooth, bouncy, and was perfectly curled at the ends! The best part is that it stayed like this for the first time EVER. I didn’t use a drop of hairspray or anything else to style my hair, literally just this cream. That was all the convincing I needed, and after my experience with this product, I literally threw out all my other styling products, even my other high end ones like Amika, Redkin, and Briogeo. Oribe has gotten themselves another loyal convert!

This crème does exactly what it says it will. It adds shine, and moisture, without a greasy texture. I have textured coils that are somewhat tight and this product does a great job at adding moisture. The consistency is pretty solid, and opaque. It’s not a bit watery, *think the MO moisturizer that’s popular for smell and blue packaging*. The consistency is like a thick lotion, but not heavy at all. Use a bit at a time and build toward your desired amount. It says to use as a leave in but as a self professed product junkie, I use it however I like, which is when my hair is already dry and I add some daily or as needed. A little goes a long way. It has the signature brand scent, which smells like love, packaged into a bottle. She’s a bit pricey but she’ll last you until the zombies take over so just get it.

This stuff is pretty miraculous even if you put it on dry hair.

I can’t live without this stuff. It’s pricey but s little goes a long way and it will last months. I love the dry shampoo too, Oribe is lovely, just wish I could afford all of it!
