This is the second edition of this biography, being revised and expanded from the original edition. For all that this man, under God, meant to the church in the 20th century, this effort by Mack Tomlinson remains the only biography of Ravenhill's life. Ravenhill's spiritual life, uniquely marked by experiential godliness, was from its beginning rooted in eighteenth century English Methodism. Had he lived two hundred years earlier, he could have been one of the men laboring in the gospel with John Wesley or George Whitefield. His grandmother, mother, and father were all converted to Christ through that spiritual heritage. Converted at age fifteen, Ravenhill later trained for Christian ministry under the saintly influence of Samuel Chadwick at Cliff College in England. Characterized by a deep life of prayer, passionate evangelistic zeal and a powerful preaching gift, his ministry drew traffic-jamming crowds in the British Isles during the 1930's and 1940's. Along with D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones and J. Edwin Orr, Ravenhill was one of the few specialists in the 20th century regarding the message of genuine revival and spiritual awakening.

HE WAS A TRUE MAN OF GOD !!!
Got the incredible Biography today-IN LIGHT OF ETERNITY-LIFE OF LEONARD RAVENHILL.Considering it came from USA it arrived quicker than expected and in good condition.I have only read first 2 chapters but I admired Mr Ravenhill-he majored on things that a lot of Christians NOT keen on-namely HOLINESS/THE FEAR OF GOD/AND OF COURSE PRAYER !!!!THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR THE AVERAGE LUKEWARM CHRISTIAN.BUT IF YOU DESIRE A HUNGER FOR GOD THEN BUY THIS BOOK !!!

Just a bit to long.
Fantastic biography, so much detail, found it hard to put down when reading the first 150 pages. For me it was a bit to long, was ready to put it down after page 400.

Takes one to a higher level of desire for God
A biography of a man of God of this caliber is a must read, and this one did not disappoint. Because many times I have read about men or women of God who read biographies of those gone before them, I have made it my practice to do the same. Testimonies are powerful! This man's inspires a life of prayer and holiness before the eyes of the One.

My Favorite Biography
I've read this biography on kindle and now in print around 6 times. Mr. Ravenhill was a remarkable and godly man that anyone can benefit from reading about. He is so inspirational and this, after the Bible, is the book that convicts me and inspires me to be the best Christian I can be.

A Book Worth Reading
Yes it is a long book but like any thing you take a little at a time not rushing through the amazing story of this amazing man of God. Through trials and tribulations this manuscript will not only encourage you but also challenge not only your prayer life but more important your Christian everyday walk. A must read for your bucket list of things to do before His return.

SO GOOD! Well worth the price. Great overview or Ravenhill’s life. Easy to read. Lots of photographs, quotes, stories. Includes short bios of other people in his life. Includes a big list of great Ravenhill quotes as well as poetry and a list of his favorite books. If you love Ravenhill you will love this book!
