Can it fit an outdoor table that is 2- 5/8" thick? I know the pictures say 1.5 max, but it looks like it is much taller.

I can't guarantee the metal outdoor ping pong net would fit a table that thick. While yes it looks as though it can go over the 1.5 inch max, shapes and sizes keeps us from saying yes to anything bigger than that. This item is sold and shipped by Amazon so it is easy to return and worth a try.

A little more detail about the WX Outdoor Ping Pong Net, the 1.5 inch max is equal to about 38 mm. Typical ping pong tables are 15mm to 25 mm. Many Outdoor Ping Pong Tables are actually thinner than that because they are made of metal. Permanent outdoor ping pong tables, sometimes made of cement like you see in parks, typically have a custom net. So for tables that aren't exactly typical, I often suggest the low cost option of a retractable net, they stretch further or shorter than the regulation 5 feet and the clamps fit a wide range of table types and sizes. Just keep in mind those will not be as durable as the WX Outdoor net and they are not regulation nets like the WX Outside Ping Pong Net is.
