SANDISK always makes fab products! They are extremely well-built and last a LONG time. These are almost tiny, yet crank out 256GB of storage. Nice brushed metal construction. Top notch clever designs.

I needed a reliable flash drive for moving big files between my work computer and home laptop, and my old plastic USB 2.0 drives just weren't cutting it anymore. I'm so glad I got this one. The difference in speed is night and day. I transferred a few gigabytes of photos and videos in just a couple of minutes, which would have taken forever on my old drive. The metal casing feels really solid and premium, much better than the cheap plastic ones that feel like they'll crack on my keychain. It does get a little warm when you're transferring a lot of data, but I looked it up and that's normal for these metal drives. It's compact, looks great, and the 128GB size is more than enough for what I need. It's a no-brainer for the price. I've been holding onto a trusty (but incredibly slow) 16GB flash drive for years. The time finally came to upgrade when I had to transfer a video file that was bigger than the drive itself! I grabbed this SanDisk Ultra Flair, and wow, what a difference. First off, the speed is fantastic. No more waiting around for what feels like an hour for files to copy. It's plug-and-play, and it just works. The design is also a huge plus. It’s small, has a nice weight to it because of the metal, and looks way more professional than my old plastic one. My only minor gripe is that it's small enough that I'm worried I might lose it, so I put it on my keyring immediately. It's a great piece of tech and makes me wonder why I waited so long to upgrade.

Thought the 512GB was a counterfeit. But have proven it's not using simple tools that did write/read testing. For the most part, I got about 50-60MiB/s Write, and around 100-160MiB/s read, sequentially. Formatted (ExFAT/NTFS) it's about 460GB which has provisioning for extra spare blocks to lengthen lifespan and speed. Overall. I give is a 4-stars. 5 for being what they said it is, 4 stars for the slightly slow write speed. This is because the drive is fresh, and this definitely isn't NAND memory. Even TLC NAND is faster, but it may be adequate enough. For my wife, long-term photo storage is what I got it for, and it'll fit. Not only isn't small, but the relative storage size is huge, and cheap, and I can see this used for a lot of trading media or swapping out backups overtime cheaply. It's likely many degrees higher able to survive fires in a fire lock box than a hard drive, and tiny enough to throw on a keychain for imaging with something like ventoy or a quick and dirty linux/windows boot disk. It seems to be of decent sandisk quality, and time will tell, but maybe for a single or dual-disk raspberry Pi server, or even a server intenal boot disk for diagnostics/headlsess server, this is likely a great use for that. it's fast enough for a raspberri pi 4 and small enough to not be a nuisance. also great if you have a car that needs to offload dashcam footage like a tesla or some retrofitted car entertainment systems. It doesn't generate too much heat, even after me running full tests, and can be used as a quick and small OS X bootable disk if you are at a university with a lot of storage space. They seemed to have design some reliability thinking with the spare blocks being reserved, meaning it should last a long time. It should be able to do most file systems, but for FAT32, you may need to create a partition for that, but you can do a lot of 32GB FAT32 partitions if you need to, and reserve the rest for Linux, MacOS or Windows-based filesystems for bootable and other data seperate. Could be used to make a kiosk in public too with right tools while being able to hide it, or pull it quick.

This USB flash drive works very well and transfers files quickly thanks to USB 3.0 speed. It’s compact, sturdy, and easy to carry around. Storage capacity is accurate, and it performs reliably for everyday use like backups and file transfers. Overall, a dependable and fast USB drive that I’m very satisfied with.

However, that sleek metal casing acts as a heatsink, and it gets alarmingly hot during use—often becoming uncomfortable to handle if you’ve been transferring data for more than a few minutes. This thermal issue isn't just a tactile annoyance; it directly impacts performance, causing write speeds to throttle and crawl during large file transfers as the drive struggles to cool down. It is a fantastic, nearly indestructible option for quick, light tasks, but if you plan on backing up massive folders, patience and a high heat tolerance are required.

This is amazingly fast, 3.9GB video file in about 7 seconds, it was seriously impressive. I have only used it in Fat32 format and I totally LOVE IT!! --- And, it is so small it is actually cute.

Use it daily for file backup's at work, nice and fast, no issues so far, very happy

I'm giving this USB stick overall 5 stars as I'm happy with my purchase, mainly because it works so far with zero issues, and delivery was super quick, and the USB came well secured, but as I stated in my rating, when it comes to value of money compared to the Gigabytes you get, it is more like 3 stars in my personal opinion, and it is just because nowadays people need 10x more space on devices like this, and simply for a reason that a lot of data and documents are done electronically and knowing that everything cost more and more these days, spending almost 53.$ on just 512G is a bit of a rip off, for that price I would rather get 1TB or at least 750GB / 820GB, ..BUT I also know that the price of USB's are similar across all stores, online or not, and that SanDisk is absolutely the best company of USB memory sticks, and that's why I consciously made the decision to buy it, despite the high price. Since those reviews are a guide for people to buy or not to buy something, I want to add that few years back I bought a set of 2x 512GB USB sticks for I think 20.$ from some unknown brand, and one got my laptop ''virused'' and second stopped working at second use, so if you looking for more affordable USB, be aware that cheaper not always means good on the long run, and even though those memory sticks are essentials in this day and age, and we all would like them to not be so pricey, it is better to invest bigger amount and have it pretty much forever, than trying to save money and in the end loose them because the device is faulty. I hope this review will help you with your decision making for this product.
