Fabulous, versatile non-stick wok. It's my go-to pan.
Do you have favourite pan? When did I reach the age where it was acceptable to have a favourite pan? And a favourite gas ring too. Hmmm. Anyway, for as long as I can remember I've been using a non-stick wok, usually 28cm in size. For a long time I had a top of the range Tefal one which was magnificent but as time passed the non stick began to wear and things stuck to it so I looked for a replacement. I bought one from Amazon which had excellent reviews, which I initially reviewed as being excellent also. For the first couple of weeks it really was good. But, maybe I reviewed it a little early. Because, shortly after I submitted that review, I noticed things were beginning to stick to it. Surprising, well within the first month of owning. Within two months it was awful. I hated using it. I even went back to my old Tefal one which I'd not had the heart to throw away. Well, I decided to go back to Tefal. All my stainless pans are Tefal and I've had them for over ten faultless years, I'm not sure why I thought I'd go elsewhere. I've not made the mistake of submitting a hasty review this time. I've been using the new Tefal Ultimate for four months now. And, it's brilliant. It's got a decent weight to it, but not too heavy that it's not usable. And use it I do. I cook virtually everything in it. That's the beauty of a deep but softly graded wok like this. You can do your stir fries, but you can also do your fry ups, scrambled eggs, even your beans. I adore these kind of pans. And, it's built to last. The very first night I had it, shortly after making my first meal with it and patting myself on the back for a good purchase, I washed it and put it upside down on the draining rack....and it slid off onto the floor! In fact, it slid off onto the floor via the edge of stone door step, leaving a big dent on the rim and even chipping off a bit of the coating on the outside. I carried on using it with the dent for a good month at least, as it actually formed quite a good spatula rest. It didn't effect the cooking ability. When I finally got around to it I took a block of wood and a lump hammer to it and teased it back into shape. I've continued to use it with no loss in performance. The only criticism I'd level at it is that I've had to tighten the star-screw on the handle twice since I've had it, although some of that might be down to me lobbing it onto the kitchen floor via a stone setp. So, anyway, despite my best efforts, this Tefal Unlimited wok has taken a kicking and kept on cooking. Impressive.

Just what I was looking for.
I was looking for a replacement for my previous pan because the non-stick had started to fail and food was sticking to the bottom. This one looks to have a good quality non-stick coating the pan itself is heavy with a fair weight behind it (this could be a disadvantage if you need to lift it from one surface to another and haven't got reasonable strength in the wrists). The pan, in general, seems to be well made and sturdy and the lid has the feature of being able to open and close to allow steam to escape. As with all non-stick pans, I don't put them in the dishwasher as it does them no favours at all, I just wash them by hand and they last a lot longer that way. I'm happy with the pan so far, only time will tell how many years it lasts.

Pan is well worth the price!
This is one of the best pans I've ever owned, albeit maybe slightly larger for my stove. All of my prior pans eventually started to appear worn out after a couple of weeks or so. These still appear new despite being nearly a year old. The non-stick is completely intact, and there are no burn scars, other than a couple hits from my being clumsy. Additionally, I cook a lot of meat at high temperatures, so the steaks and meat in general stand the test. According to other pots and pans, yes, these are pretty pricey. Even still, they are really worthwhile if you do the math. For myself, there is never a time when I wouldn't rather spend the money on durable goods. precisely as they are, as well.

Deep and easy clean pan with Thermospot for correct temperature
I was rather concerned when I first use this pan as the base was concave meaning that it was not actually touching the hob in the centre and as I was using on a conventional ceramic hob rather than induction I was concerned there would not be even heating. I contacted Tefal who just said to get a replacement under guarantee. Amazon replaced it but the replacement was exactly the same so I ran some tests with a digital thermometer and discovered to my surprise that in general the lack of contact in the centre did not actually affect the heating in the centre of the pan and it was actually just at one side that seemed to heat up rather slower than the rest of the pan. I do not know if this would be the same if used on an induction hob. As for cooking results, it seems to cook pretty evenly and the Thermospot heat guide appears to top out at around 200-210 degrees C which seems to be about right for general frying but not 'searing' as the Tefal description would lead you to believe. Mind you, the temperature required to sear meat properly is probably a little high to use on a non-stick pan anyway and the coating would probably deteriorate pretty quickly. The pan is much deeper than a more conventional frying pan which allows more food to be cooked at a time or with far less splattering and the curved edge allows the food to easily be slipped out onto the plate. The pan is said to have Tefal's hardest ever coating and resists scratches by all but sharp metal implements - however I did not really want to test this! Overall this is a fairly substantial and weighty pan that gives you the confidence that it is well made. My initial concern over the the concave base seems to be unfounded and may not be an issue if used on an induction hob either. It also cleans really easily too.

A great wok
This wok is brilliant! Nothing seems to stick to this and it is really easy to clean. I bought this on a deal for about £20 so was great value. I’ll be looking out for the rest of the set in an offer to buy a few more!

Buy this now!
I have recently started eating a plant diet only, resulting in me wanting to stir fry several dishes. I have an induction HOB and have tried a few frying pans/pots for stir fry. Typically, the bottom of the pan/pot gets too hot and starts to disfigure to concave, causing the pan/pot to sit on an apex on the HOB— scratching it. Not to mention the stir fry does not turn out well because the whole unit is not hot enough. This TFAL wok was worth every penny! It has a large base that sits on the HOB, takes heat very well, has not disfigured in any manner, has no internal rivet to deal with (making the stir fry motion in the wok easy with nothing to catch on), and the handle is thick and cool so you can hold onto it while stirring. The is my go to fry pan in the house, no matter what we are cooking

Very nice large pan
Had it for 2 months now and use it most days. It's excellent non-stick and very large surface - great for cooking for a family of 5! However my wife struggles with the weight - it is heavy. However as a strong lad I don't mind and appreciate the quality and size of the pan and it works brilliantly with our induction cooker. Very happy with it.

Great product
Does whtat it states, although I always oil the pan a bit to cook just to be on the safe side! Quality is excellent, bit for this kind of money I would have preferred to add a lid as well.

Antiadherente 100%
