Yes it does. I actually use it with a 26” bike. Works great.

Can one easily adjust resistance?

Yes. Just turn the knob in back

How does it attach to the back wheel? Do I need to remove anything from my bike in order to use this?

Yes. It comes with its own rear wheel axle you install so it can attach to the frame. Extremely easy, practically the same as the existing axle. On some bikes I wonder if switching them out is even necessary, but on mine it was.
