Please please please don’t go with goldfish. The common goldfish you see which go very cheap (maybe 5 cents each?) need at least 40 gallon/fish. Fancy goldfish need at least 30 gallon/fish and additional 10 gallon/ additional fancy goldfish. Goldfish lifespan is supposed to be 15+ years, not only 1-2 years, when given proper tank. **Q: Can you put fish in this pond?** A: Thanks for your question. Some of our customer's have put small fish in these patio ponds but given the size it isn't ideal. You'll have to get creative with some sort of filter system. I added a filter to keep the water cleaner with the fish. The item is well made and was worth the cost.
