What is the cocking effort required?

Easy! Just takes a few minutes to get used to it. I was loading this quicker than the shot gun

Can it also throw rabbit targets or just pigeons?

The thrower is not designed to throw rabbits however you could but it wouldn't be a a true rabbit.

Does it come with clays?

It does not come with any clay pigeons. The clay cannon does work very well though.
