Insightful, Practical, and Truly Transformative
The Whole-Brain Child is one of the most helpful parenting books I’ve read. Daniel Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson explain how a child’s brain develops and how understanding that process can turn daily struggles into opportunities for growth. The concepts — like “Name It to Tame It” and “Connect and Redirect” — are simple, memorable, and surprisingly effective in helping kids manage big emotions. What I love most is that this book blends science with real-life advice, making it easy to apply even in stressful moments. The short summaries and illustrations at the end of each chapter are great for quick refreshers. Since reading it, I’ve noticed more calm and connection in my home. Whether you’re parenting toddlers or teens, this book offers compassionate, research-backed tools to raise resilient, emotionally intelligent kids. A must-read for every parent!

Brain challenge for both, parent and children
Recommended by a colleague! This book makes brain science simple and completely transformed my approach to my little one. I was incredibly surprised to learn how to manage my own reactions to unexpected behavior, like in a restaurant when she cry and doesn't want to eat, messing all around. I learned you should never be embarrassed and try to make the baby to think. Foind these methods so effective A total game-changer for calmer, more connected parenting.

Scientific based repectful parenting for everyone.v
I have read several parenting books, mainly centred around respectful and gentle discipline strategies and parenting using logic and calm authority. This book covers the scientific why of those strategies. For me, having followed rie practices anyway, a lot of the suggestions I was already implementing. But I didn't know, from a brain and developmental view, why they were important and why they worked. This book offers the insight to go with respectful and gentle parenting. It explains why hugs, enpathy and calm acknowledgement works better than ignoring tantrums or any punitive punishment or time out strategy. It is a lot to absorb in one read but does summarise at the end. And has quirky cartoons to demonstrate appropriate responses, very much like "how to talk so kids will listen" (another great parenting book). I don't think it's enough on it's own. They have another book covering discipline or try some of the other respectful parenting books to compliment this. But it's a keeper. I've used the story re-telling strategy several times already with great insight into what was truly bothering my 3 year old. Read this book if you practice rie or any other gentle parenting method. Read this book if you are tired of the constant time out and screaming matches. Read this book if you are a new parent looking for insight on your journey. Read this book.

The Whole- Brain Child:12 Revolutionary Strategies to Nurture Your Child's Developing Mind
This is the first book solely dedicated to parenting that I have read. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I have found it extremely beneficial on a number of fronts. Firstly, as a parent, the book has equipped me with numerous useful strategies for dealing with survive moments and helping my children develop into well rounded, confident people who understand both their own feelings and those of others. Secondly, the sections for kids are ingenious in my opinion. I have shared them with my four and five year olds and they "get" them. Much of the vocabulary from the book is now integrated into our every day family conversations. The kids are learning to see signs before they flip their lids. Even if they have gone past the point of no return and do flip their lids, once things have calmed down and they are rational again, they want to discuss the incident and learn from it. They are also happy to tell my husband and me when we have flipped our lids and when we are not in the centre of our rivers of wellbeing! Thirdly, we are all now using mindsight to help us understand how others are feeling. Discussions about our actions, our feelings and the feelings of others bring us closer together and help us to grow as individuals and as a family. Its a thoroughly useful book for parents and families.

Technical but a extremely Delicate view of Parenting
Really Interesting - the book shows a technical view of the brain and its function, full of daily basis examples and at the end has a short summary that can be used during life.
