This 3 Port 4K HDMI switch with audio extractor from Panlong allows user to switch easily among three HD sources to one HD display. Also it can extract the digital audio embedded in HDMI and output it via Optical SPDIF or RCA L / R stereo audio out. The unit even supports ARC function that can upstream audio from TV by single HDMI cable connection and output through Optical SPDIF (Toslink) out (TV connected to HDMI output of the unit must support ARC and HDMI v1.4 cable is required). Three EDID settings: 2CH: HDMI source sends 2CH PCM audio which can be converted to 2CH analog stereo and output through RCA L/R. HDMI and SPDIF have stereo audio at the same time. 5.1CH: Set EDID to "5.1CH" for HDMI source to send Dolby Digital / DTS which can be extracted via Optical SPDIF out; The RCA L/R output will not have sound. SPDIF does NOT support 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus (For Roku & Chromecast, please disable Dolby Digital Plus and use Stereo mode for audio extraction). Pass: The output audio format will be decided by the audio decoding capability of the receiving terminal.
