What knob does it use? D shape or 2 flat sides?

It has 2 flat sides. "D" knob hole will not work.

Will this work on a 1999 Yamaha wave runner xl700? It looks identical to mine.

This part is common to a lot of different machines. If it looks the same , it’ll probably work. Mine went on a 2003 bombardier 650 Quest.

Will this work on 1990 Seadoo bombardier spi?

Yes this should work on that model.

Will this fit a 1998 gsx 951 sea doo?

No! The 951 engine uses 5/16” fuel lines. The fuel valve you’re asking about is for smaller engines using 1/4” lines. Oem part # for the one you need is 275500554, 275500400, 275500401. There are a few other numbers. I don’t know why so many different numbers show up for the one you need. I worked for a dealership for many years and the only number for your engine was the one ending in 554. There were only two fuel valves used on carbureted SeaDoos. Just saying all that so you don’t get confused. I prefer WSM or SBT on Amazon.
