It gives a touch of elegance.
Let me start the detailed review of the Cuisinart CPT-160 Metal Classic 2-Slice Toaster. The first thing I want to highlight is the remarkable speed of delivery. After placing the order, I was pleasantly surprised to receive it within five hours, a testament to the company's efficiency. This was particularly impressive as my old toaster was no longer performing at its best. After spending about two hours researching the right toaster, I decided on this Cuisinart CPT-160 2-Slice Toaster. I was right, as it has left us with a pleasant impression. The Cuisinart CPT-160 2-Slice Toaster is crafted from high-quality stainless steel, a material known for its durability and sleek appearance. The brushed stainless steel color adds a touch of elegance to any kitchen. Its dimensions are 7.13" deep x 10.75" wide x 7.13" high, and it features a convenient small sliding crumb tray at the bottom left. I will describe the functions of the beautiful toaster: • The Bagel function heats only the top half of the bagel so that it is crispy on top and soft on the bottom. • Toast: for regular and toasted bread • Defrost: first defrost and then toast frozen bread • Reheat: allows you to reheat toasted bread without browning or burning it • Cancel: stops all toasting operations The shade control setting offers toasting options, allowing us to toast our slices of bread as we like; we use it on the 3-4 medium toast setting. The first thing we did before using it was blowtorching it with an air gun to remove dust. I put it in toast mode but without bread to burn, dust, or any other material, and if it smelled something like it was a new product, after a few minutes and when the new smell disappeared, we put the first slices of bread, in the 1-2 setting the toast was light brown I changed the setting to 3-4. The result was perfect; I like a medium brown tone, and the toasted bread was delicious. In summary, the Cuisinart CPT-160 Metal Classic 2-Slice Toaster not only adds a touch of elegance to our kitchen but also offers a user-friendly experience. Its shiny stainless steel color sparkles and its shade control setting allows us to toast our slices of bread just the way we like. The bread was delicious with a perfect medium toast, and the toaster arrived in our kitchen ready to toast many slices of bread for a long time. Based on my pleasant experience, I highly recommend it. My primary goal in reviewing this product is to provide an unbiased opinion and assist other customers in making informed decisions about the Cuisinart CPT-160 Metal Classic 2-Slice Toaster.

Not bad, but not a super well made toaster either
I needed a replacement for my toaster. I'm not a fan of cheap aluminum toasters, but it seems that's all you can get these days. It's clear right out of the box that this is not going to last overly long. The one it replaced lasted around 9 years. I'm not sure this one will, despite the rave reviews I saw online. Clearly, since it's new to me, the jury is still out on longevity, but.....here's my impressions so far. Fits my countertop space, always good news. Cord is acceptably long. The buttons are clearly marked and easily used. The dial is less so, but my old one was worse. The toasting process told me that not all the interior heat coils turn on to the interior of the machine. Whether that is due to a poor grade of coil or poor workmanship or just the temperature, I can't say. BUT...the toast seems to not be as "toasted" as my other machine on the same dial numbers. Since they are in minute increments, I would assume that 3 minutes of toasting in both machines would be similar, but they are not. This machine also doesn't seem to toast to the edges of the bread on 2.5-3 minutes like my old one did. I'll probably keep it, but don't expect much. It's a cheap toaster, folks....and that's what you'll get.

Disappointing Cuisinsart Toaster
It works off and on. When you push lever down it does not stay...you have to do it many before it holds. I should have returned it but my work involves extensive travel so am gone for long periods of time. I bought Cuisinart brand over others and pd a bit more because I thought it was the best.

Reliable, Works Great
This Cuisinart 2-slice toaster is a dependable kitchen appliance that consistently toasts evenly and performs well for everyday use. The settings are straightforward and easy to adjust, and the compact size fits nicely on the counter without taking up too much space. It heats quickly and handles basic breakfast needs perfectly. Overall, it’s a reliable and long-lasting toaster that does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

Looks good, but feels cheap and can't toast evenly
The main issue with the modern toaster is achieving even toasting on both sides of your bread. Believe what you read in the reviews: most toasters struggle to provide even toasting, usually resulting in scorching one side and barely browning the other at regular settings. We recently thought to replace our 22 year-old Cuisinart 2-slice toaster that has worked perfectly and has always produced evenly-browned toast. The older Cuisinart has that classic, chrome toaster design (think 1950's) with solid controls, but we thought a more modern, brushed stainless toaster would look nicer with our other newer appliances. We first tried out the latest 2-slice Cuisinart toaster (CPT-160). It looks nice but feels cheap with its loose temperature knob and wobbly toast lever. Worse, it can't produce a uniform piece of toast to save its life, unless you prefer to have only one side of your toast done the way you want it. Looking through all the reviews of major brand toasters, uneven toasting is the most common complaint. So, what is it about the modern toaster that makes its primary function so difficult to achieve? The problem with most modern toasters is this: In order to design lighter-weight, lower-cost toasters, the bread slots have been made narrower, placing the heating elements closer to the toast. Perhaps this is an attempt to speed up the toasting process for impatient consumers but it has unpredictable results. Case in point: the distance between heating elements on our 22 year-old Cuisinart CPT-70 toaster is 2.5-inches per slot and it produces perfect toast every time with any kind of bread. The new Cuisinart (similar in low-cost design as most modern toasters) has a reduced 2.1-inch spacing and cannot produce even toasting on both sides of the bread. The whole concept of toasting is for radiant heat (as opposed to direct contact) to brown the surface of the bread. If the radiating elements are too close to the toast, the heating is more intense and the browning process is unpredictable. Compared to classic toasters from decades ago, this "new, improved" reduced spacing is why modern toasters struggle to perform their simple job. The problem is aggravated by breads of different types and moisture content --which is why the "gentler" toasting provided by wider heating element spacing is more successful. Not satisfied with the CPT-160, we tried the Calphalon 2-slice Intellicrisp toaster.? It has wider heating element spacing similar to our old Cuisinart and does produce more evenly-toasted bread than other modern toasters. In addition, the controls on the Calphalon have a good quality feel. The temperature control has a unique design and a countdown timer. However, the Calphalon also has slightly deeper toasting slots than most toasters and this results in the toaster being over 8-inches tall, at least an inch taller than other toasters. Its boxy, rectangular design looks more massive than its dimensions would suggest. The darker grey color only emphasizes its large size. Unfortunately, this massive "box" did not look good in our smaller kitchen. If you have a larger kitchen with plenty of counter space, the Calphalon should look fine and will likely provide you the best toasting performance among competitors. The Calphalon is about $20 more expensive than similar mainstream toasters but it is worth it for good toasting performance and I recommend it highly above competitive toasters. In the end, the Calphalon was too big for our liking so we're sticking with our 22 year-old Cuisinart which is simply a better design than most modern toasters, including even the latest from Cuisinart.

Good low budget toaster.
Its somewhat cheap but it works well and hasn't given any issues. If your on a budget I would say its a good choice.

A Timeless, Well-Designed, Stainless Steel Toaster
I've owned this toaster for nine years now and it still works. I don't use it every day but I do use it. — DESIGN — In terms of design, I think my Cuisinart products were bought during their Design Golden Age (about ten years ago) because this is a classic, timeless design. Some of their current products looks too industrial to me. This toaster has a simple stainless steel elegance to it. There are four buttons on the "front": • Bagel (I mainly use the bagel option; I *do* live in New York City) • Defrost • Reheat • Cancel Using it is simple: choose a number on the circular dial, which correlates to how *long* it toasts for, in minutes; pop your toast or bagels in; press the button down, and you're done. — CLEANING — When you toast a lot, there are crumbs that fall to the bottom. This toaster has a crumb tray on the bottom that you can slide out and empty (and clean when it gets dirty). To clean the stainless steel, I recommend any stainless steel cleaning wipes and wipe in the direction of the grain. Mine still looks just like new because I maintain and clean it when it gets dirty. The rubber on the bottom four corners have fallen off over time and over apartment moves. I can added some rubber dots so that it keeps from sliding on the counter top. This is a well-designed, and well-made toaster. Nine years is a long time to own a toaster, but this design is timeless so the look will never get old. I hope it works for many more years to come. Recommended.

Not as sturdy as our previous model
We finally had to buy a new toaster. Our old Cuisinart toaster seemed a little more sturdy and material seemed better. Also had a counter on it so you would know how much time left to toast. Overall this toaster is pretty even toasting and works well. Not a top of line but still works great.
